The only sign of a Mick on guard and cautious (watching the video) is the shortened hey-hey my-my-my-ma part on Rambler

They were incredibly loud and clear at Twickenham in 2019 - Charlie's last UK stadium show - but not quite loud enough at Hyde Park, which really sucked, especially within hearing distance of a foghorn Sloane with a couple of idiot mates who wouldnt stop talking very loudly until - praise the lord - she peeled off for a p*ss and never came back.

I read some reports that said Mick flubbed the harmonica at the beginning of Sweet Virginia and then tossed his harmonica but I watched a video and it sounded fine. I mean he tossed the harp after playing but only because he was playing acoustic guitar too and doesn’t use a rack to hold his harmonica. I don’t know, lots of people making comments about Mick not feeling well and that being the reason for 3 Keith songs. Whatever the reason seems like everyone was firing on all pistons as far as I can see from any video I watched. Great set list, what a tour so far!

It looks like Mick was trying to get the harp unstuck from dirt or something?

Mick looked unusually annoyed and stressed out with that harmonica and even when he starts playing the guitar he's rushing and there seems to be something wrong. Now who wouldn't when facing tens of thousands of people...it's just that usually he acts like it's nothing ;-)

You have to take into account that at 80 Mick is going to have nights when his voice is weak and his energy levels are slightly down, but from what i can see he's doing really well at the half way stage, i expected a postponed show by now.

On average he's playing once every 4 days, that gives him plenty of time to recover between shows.
He's doing great so far imho.

Just hope he's not pushing too hard to prove himself, remember he has heart disease.

I hsve not been to a concert in 30 years ( never big on concerts ) but decided to go last night. I was not expecting much because of their ages. I was pleasantly surprised and thought they were better than the last time I saw them in 1994. I was really surprised by how well they played and Jaggers voice hasn’t lost anything.
One thing that surprised was how loud they were. They almost seemed more like a Power band than than the Stones I was used to. Are they always this loud now?

I guess the answer is "yes", but I don't find them overly loud. I've started taking ear plugs to shows after a couple of ear ringing experiences (with other bands) but I'd say that the Stones seem to be the perfect volume, never an issue with the ears the next day and don't use the plugs.

I second that. Perfect volume. If I’m in the pit, rear GA, or in the 100s sections, I’m always happy with the volume. Loud but not punishingly so. Pit B Atlanta was perfectly loud.

I am not complaining about how loud they were just surprised. Again not having been to a concert in 30 years I was shocked at how different the sound was vs all the times I saw them in the past. A pleasant surprise really. In the past the fact that I could not hear them well enough is one of the reasons I stopped going to concerts. Thought about going to see them in Philly now that I know I will be able to hear them. That is why I am asking.
On Saturday on the way back to Raleigh NC I got stuck in a traffic jam near Charlotte and right in front of me was was seemed like a Stones equipment truck on the way to Philly. Was behind it for about 10 minutes.

Who opened in Atlanta? I just caught the end of it and it didn’t sound like who was supposed to open.

They at some point should try to play this like it's on the album...it's just such a superior performance. This live approach is like an entirely altogether different song. It's the only song in the show I would change out.

smu sounds off

something about the guitars

Because you listening on an I Phone that is being recorded on an I phone.

no i'm listening on a pc with a good soundcard thru quality headphones at high volume (as usaul) not sh-tty iphone speakers

the sound is present in multiple videos at multiple angles and places in the stadium

it sounds like ronnie's guitar is louder and more distorted then normal

perhaps it was wrong to say that it sounded off it just sounds different

agree with gls though not his best solo but he had a couple other nice ones thru the show

but i kind of like the extra distortion in the guitar sound on smu

From YouTube videos, Ronnie's guitar is louder (which is ok) but also more distorted - that I don't think is a good change, Ronnie's guitar has had cleaner sounds and more "beeping", hope they'll adjust it a bit back.

Ghost Hounds apparently. I missed them on purpose. My 4th Stones show and 3 of the 4 had GH opening. Gross.

Gang,
I've been off the grid and couldn't master or share my master due to no hotspot data. Will be home tomorrow and able to get what I got out. It's definitely listenable. Just a couple mike bumps to deal with.

Reading the comments I wanted to say that I don't have to imagine how bad it was before the roof was open because I caught the last 3 songs from the Ghost Hounds. They finished a song and you could hear the sound go on for a couple seconds afterwards. Right then left and then right again in the stadium. I was on the side section 127C.

As far as how loud it was... It wasn't too loud on the side, I'm sure it was loud straight on especially on the floor near the front. As an example when Keith starts the opening riffs to JJF they are quite loud even on the side, but you can hear and see him turn down the volume on his guitar after the first couple riffs.

Irregardless it's an absolute treasure to see guys of this age actually playing live music warts and all.

I'll post a link here to Dime as soon as the pull is ready. Feel free to share it elsewhere for non Dime users. Once it's in the wild do whatever you will, but please credit the source and original mastering.

It was funny back in 2021 for Tampa how many full video shows on YouTube used my audio, but failed to mention the source.

IORR but I like it.
