I've only seen a handful of his films but "Pale Rider" remains one of my all-time favorite flicks! Happy birthday Clint!

Unforgiven is probably my favorite, but yes, Pale Rider is up there, as is Outlaw of Josey Wales.

Such an iconic actor, from a generation we’ll, sadly, never see the likes of again. As well-known as many of his roles are, I, admittedly, haven’t watched many. My late father used to watch him in Rawhide, in the early 60’s.

Edit: I completely forgot Escape from Alcatraz! I’ve watched that several times. Wonderful film!

Tightrope with Genevieve Bujold is my favorite, a different kind of plot and character for Eastwood.

Anyone see it?

I am s big fan of Clint Eastwood. When moderating IORR I do always have in mind his (Dirty Harry’s) comment to the bad guy about «Make my day - punk».

On the more serious side, everything he did is great, even the early days spaghetti westerns. Others are Unforgiven, Gran Torino, Bridges Of Madison County», there are so many. Clint Eastwood is a great actor, but also a great producer.

Clint at 94 years is quite a matute age - happy birthday May 31 Clint!

So he shares the same birthday, May 31, with the late great John Bonham. That made me think. Do they have something in common between them? Dunno…

Eastwood has two sides, actor and director/producer, and he is talented on both fields. Haven’t seen all of his works, in fact, very sporadically. That being said, one that I particularly like is Gran Torino.

Long may he live.

Trivia: the Westerners call the made-in-Italy Western films “Spaghetti Western”. The Japanese call them “Macaroni Western”. You’ve become wiser today.smiling smiley

Part of Clint's attempt to destroy his uber-man macho image he gained after "Dirty Harry". Playing with a orangoutan... John Wayne wouldn't have done that.
In the same league there is "Tightrope" where Eastwood plays a cop into sleazy SM games...
John Wayne wouldn't have done that either! grinning smiley

Happy Birthday Clint!
My faves sre The good the bad the ugly, Gran Torino, For a handful of dollars and all the Dirty Harry movies.
Mystic River is genius, did he write the script as well fer that one?

Mystic River, wow, I forgot that one!

He didn't write it, just directed it, and co-produced it.
Someone else wrote the screenplay, based on another person's novel.

What a cast, eh?
