Hope this isn't old news.

Ronnie has a new live album out (from 1992, Slide On Live band), but so far only on streaming platforms, it seems:

This is a strange album. I like Woods solo work. But on some songs of "Live and eclectic", especially "Josephine", RW is that drunk, that he only manages to slur out some words. I do not know why he released that recording.

I really like his rowdy rendition of "Pretty Beat up".

You're right, same thing. Maybe remastered now, for better or worse.

No Sir, this is not the essence of Ron Wood. On the recording I was referring to he is slurring as if he was just about to collapse. There are many thrilling recordings he made and concerts he gave. It would not be fair to see nothing but a drinker in him.

Excellent live, I had the CD but it had a metallic sound, this is good!
There's also that little masterpiece that is Breathe on Me...I think this is superior to a lot of things by the Stones or Bob Dylan, fantastic lyrics and great melody. Great Ronnie!!!

Bought the download at junodownload and it sounds great.
Ladyland

Bernard takes Flying to a whole new level. On the boot there were more songs - it is a shame Ronnie did not make them available with this release.

love this but gonna wait for a physical release

off topic but who'd like to hear ronnie do some shows with bernard again as opposed to the rumoured faces tour with rod stewart?

i'd personally rather see him put a band together with bernard in between stones tours

i'm kinda surprised he didn't do something like this in 2023 given how many guest and solo appearances he did through the year

You really must be listening to another release than I am...I find this release fantastic -the playing is fantastic, Wood sings fantastic, it really is an amazing record. I find his Slide on This album fantastic, and this live release is a great companion to it.

Slide on This, Live at Electric Ladyland and Wandering Spirit are just about the best things any of the Stones have released in the 1990's.

So I will check if I might have remembered another album. I listened to Slide on this for years, and many live recordings. RW did many great performances, sometimes, especially in the nineties, he was too drunk. If I messed something up - sorry.

He redid some of the vocals for this release, so compared to the bootleg there are improvements.

I prefer Ronnie drunk as it happens, before the days of drawing setlists and constantly putting annoying clips on social media on the way to the gig.
Ronnie was rock and roll back in the day, and he never missed a show no matter how drunk. Gotta love him.

Agreed, Ronnie on his way to being another rock 'n' roll casualty was so much cooler than having him still alive, playing well, and enjoying life and family.

Along those lines Ronnie would have increased his quality of life and life expectancy had he stopped smoking 30 years ago.
It is what it is, he's still with us, obviously that's the main thing, goes without saying doesn’t it Rocky? So why say it.
I preferred him in the drinking days as a fan. He and Keith were the living embodiment of rock and roll excess, that's how i like my rock stars.
Childish ? hell yeah, this thing wasn't supposed to grow up and be all boring and sensible but i'll take that of course. winking smiley

I bought wav files. Same price as flac. I don't mind helping a musican with a young family with a few bucks. Seriously, it has a clean crisp sound on my bose tower speakers bought in 1991.
