Sorry but I don't get it what's so great and fantastic about this. This movie with all its truncated songs that run way too fast doesn't get any better in 4K...

Because they still were the greatest rock and roll band in the world at the time.

It's a bit sad that when they really make an effort it often turns out worse than a simple tv-recording. It goes for this one and the Imax recording too.
Too much tampered with, overelaborated. If prefer a straight, honest live recording any day. Preferably with good sound also.

Out of curiosity, does anyone if the original film rushes still exist?

This film is visually stunning, but like others have mentioned, the editing leaves a lot to be desired.

Probably never going to happen, but can you imagine a brand new visual release of the Tempe show, re-edited with all the songs in full? (maybe minus the trainwreck that is Let It Bleed).

I also don't like the way Mick growls through the songs in this period, but I alsways enjoyed watching this movie, because for years it was the only (official) available good-quality show from that period.

The beginning of the show still gives me goosebumps. When the band hits the stage, the crowds comes forward and screams there lungs out. Love the zeitgeist. Young stones, young crowd, no phones, no huge screens.. And everybody was having a great time.

I would be one of the people to buy a 4k LSTNT. Take my money.

I'm with you totally on this, Jalfstra!

There're also other shops - e.g. [BoutiqueHomeVideo.co.uk] or [FilmTreasures.co.uk] or [iMusic.uk] in UK or Swiss [CeDe.de] - who sell releases by Kino Lorber.

"NEW Audio Commentary by Justin Sosa, Host of 'Hang Fire: A Rolling Stones Podcast'."

I love Justin, but is he old enough to comment on the "Let's Spend the Night Together" movie? ;0)

Am I old enough to comment on where the tomato, potato, pineapple, maize and the coconut "tree" come from?

Who determines what an age means in regard to listening to music and commenting on it?

You're no better. Is he old enough... that's really something.

I believe Justin has earned the legitimacy to do this kind of work. On his YouTube channel, he’s good, he has a great eye for detail, he’s a pretty good teacher, and I like his analyses because he focuses on the same details as I do. I’m really happy for him. He deserves it!

Love the film, and look forward to the new 4k version.

LSTNT was my real introduction to the Stones; purchased my first Stones album (Flashpoint) in 1993, and that same year recorded LSTNT from a TV showing. First time viewing the Stones in concert, and it was excellent! The fashions (Mick in the sportswear, Bill in that ratty navy tracksuit!) obviously did not have the cool of the Stones in the 70s, but musically, they were at another performance peak.

In the years since Hampton has become my go-to for 1981/1982 Stones, one of their absolute finest live films I think, but LSTNT is so visually stunning, and musically rocking, I love to revisit it.

The 4K version also includes the Blu-ray disc; separately, there is the Blu-ray disc only.

And there's also a separate DVD - [KinoLorber.com] .

I wasn't going to bother with this as I already have the DVD and I really can't see how they can improve it that much, but the commentary by Justin has made me order the blu ray!

4K isn't region bound, you can play the discs everywhere without any problems.

Yes, but Doc probably meant that you have to purchase it in the United States. From jpc.de, I've got a reply that this release is not listed at their suppliers. And I haven't seen this release in other European online shops yet.

I ordered it at Amazon.com as soon as it was available for pre-order there, no problem.

Yes, the order itself at Amazon.com in the United States is no problem. But the delivery from there. No Amazon parcel locker possible (or no parcel lockers by other delivery services), only to your home address. And then you never know which parcel service is responsible for the 'last mile'.

Was there any new material on this? Or is it just the same as the DVD I purchased ?

I understand what you mean, but my personal experience here in The Netherlands is always good with Amazon, there is never an order that hasn't arrived at my place and if the parcel is small, like one blu ray or 4K, than it is just put in the letterbox in my frontdoor. No problems here.

No new material, but... if you only know the dvd version than you will get a huge upgraid. The blu ray from years ago from Japan already was a big difference, it was like watching a new different movie, now with the 4K upgrade it will be even better, with way better picture and sound, even the new blu ray will be better because it will be also using the 4K print.

Congratulations for your luck. Letterbox at the frontdoor? Too complicated for underpaid parcel staffs. The shipment went w/o note to a collection point (or the depot). Then you had to contact the support of the parcel service to get it. Own experience with recent Amazon.com / eBay UK deliveries.

Ok, I see the problem now. For me the collection point is also just a five or six minute walk, so no problem there either.
But bying an LP for example on Ebay is a whole different ball game, a lot of times it was just delivered outsite on my doorstep and then it doesn't matter if it is UPS, DHL or DPD, they all do this when you're not at home. So lp's I only order when I'm sure I am at home when delivered.

The problem is that if we buy in the United States, the Blu-ray region is different from Europe and cannot be played on our devices.

That's why I have a region free blu ray player.
But why not buy and go for 4K that is not region bound and you can play it anytwhere.

Is it known that it's encoded for USA? I don't see that anywhere on Amazon.com. Seems music videos haven't been coded for a long time now.
