Looks like I missed something here but what are the well documented reasons? I would love a decent recording of both East Rutherford shows and your MR sounds excellent!

Tapers are tired of seeing their recordings being turned into silvers and sold for profit. Then there is RSkinno who thinks he is a sound engineer doing piss poor remasters and polluting the treading pool. The first source from Jazzfest had this happen in less than 24 hours.

daspyknows is not freezer. not sharing it here doesn't mean to not share it at all.

I don't want to sell them. I do too want them sold....period. I don't want them remastered. Neither do other tapers. They are and will be shared to people I trust and will abide by my wishes. ProfessorWolf asked for me to share the Midnight Rambler so I did. It's like the Syones setlist discussions. Can't please everybody so I will do what I want. Complain to those who are the reason.

daspyknows, maybe you misunderstand me. I'm not complaining about not sharing. I am complaining about telling us you have great things but keeping them inside your circle. The rest of us don't need to know about your trading practices.

I totally understand your frustration on this. It is extremely disrespectful of RSkinno to process the recordings of tapers who explicitly ask not to.

This over time is also doing harm to IORR as a platform that people share their recordings on if more and more people like you decide to stop doing it.

On this forum we should all be vocal about this and condemn this behavior.

And maybe inform Bjornulf about this wouldn't hurt either.

Let me tell you that your recording of "Midnight Rambler" was the best recording I've head so far from this tour. It surely won't need any "remastering".

BV has plenty to do without getting in the middle of this. Rskinno has made it clear he thinks what he is doing is beneficial and has no intent to stop. It has gone on for multiple tours. Unfortunately his actions have consequences for others.

As a taper myself, albeit one that is active with other artists, these things are unfortunately not exclusive to the Stones, but it happens in other circles as well. The band I most actively tape has a similar situation where many, many tapers do not feel comfortable sharing their recordings, myself included. Too many people that want to put their own spin on somebody else's work, too many people trying to sell others' recordings, too many people sharing lossless sources in lossy formats, etc. With this band, probably greater than 80% of all their shows get taped in some capacity, but probably less than 25% are really circulating on any level. Many tapers now keep to only trading with other tapers, because they seem to be the only ones who are capable of honoring other tapers' requests with their recordings. I include myself in this as well; I really only trade my recordings with a handful of other tapers that I trust - I almost never entertain trade requests for any of my masters from somebody I don't already know or have a good history with. I want people to be able to enjoy my recordings, especially of concerts that nobody else has taped. But some people have managed to spoil it for everybody else. Even the one Stones show I taped, my trading/taping name got plastered all over all sorts of silver CDs and sold - I don't want to be associated with that. Lessons learned.

I completely get where daspyknows is coming from, and support their stance. Would I like to have their full recording of this show? Absolutely! It sounds fantastic judging from Rambler, and was one of the better Stones shows I've seen over the past decade. But I understand where they're coming from since I'm the same way. It's a shame so many people feel entitled to recordings (That's not necessarily directed at anybody that's been in this conversation over the last page), and it's upsetting to me that so many people in the ROIO world have these self-serving egos, especially when most of those come from people that are not buying the concert tickets, not smuggling their gear into a gig, not taking a risk of getting kicked out, not doing everything they can to pull a great recording, not spending their time afterwards mastering their recording, and all that for somebody else to just turn around and sell it, or decide "I don't like how this sounds, I'm gonna tinker with it whether they like it or not". The effort that gets put into recording a single gig is massive, and it's largely a thankless task most of the time.

That does not mean I only share recordings with tapers, I share with people who I trust and know and who I know will respect my wishes. Others have shared with me because I respect their wishes. That's why the rehearsal recordings were shared with me.

No worries - happy to chime in to support other tapers. I haven't been active on here in ages, and really only started learning about this drama over the past week or so as I started to look forward to the MetLife show. It's disheartening to see it's happening with other bands' taping circles out side of the one that I'm particularly active in.

So what can a poor boy who doesn't even know what a mastering is do to obtain the greatest recording of one of the greatest shows I have ever been to? Really gratefull for MR, and if we can do anything to also get Heartbreaker, WWW, Tell Me Straight, Gimme Shelter and the furious JJF please let me know

I am also a taper and have shared a few of my recordings on this site over the years. I attended both Metlife shows but did not record them as I did not know what the security would be like (first time in the US) and did not want to risk not getting in having travelled 3500 miles to get there.

I would love recordings of both shows. Do you trade daspy?

Long-time lurker, first time poster (my review on this show is on the page as Stoned In Staten Island).

The Stones have been my favorite band all my life; despite this I’ve only seen them four times.

This show on Sunday was the best I’ve seen of them. Sure, my first show (HBO MSG 2003) may have been smoother, but the ragged energy they powered through their limitations with on Sunday was far more impressive than the technical superiority that may have been present in 2003.

The show felt less Vegas-y and more gritty and lean than it did in 2003 or at my 2005 show. It somehow made the explosive show I saw at MetLife in 2019 look deeply pedestrian by comparison.

I got eight songs I never heard before on Sunday. In four shows, I’ve gotten 8 different Keith songs, including a world premiere. I got a genuine surprise in Midnight Rambler, thought to be excised for new songs. I got the best version I’ve heard of Gimme Shelter, my favorite song of all time. I got a Satisfaction that felt truly committed and revived.

My hero Keith was on fire. Mick astounds. Ronnie ripped. Chanel simmered. What an evening.
