General admission tickets

Has anyone been in this section this tour? Looking at buying one for a show. Better to spend more for closer floors or seats ?

I wandered around GA at Vegas before heading into the pit. It was ok, but you gotta know what you're getting. You're (at best) half a field away, but you get more sense of the overall show/screens and room to move. I think it's better value for money than anything outside of the pit/first 25 rows or so. It might even be better value for money than those, but it is a different experience in the pit, as you get to see the people on stage more.

If I was only doing one show, and had the money, I'd do the pit. But having done pit in Vegas (and it wasn't wholly pleasant as it was way too crowded), if I pull GA in the lucky dip tomorrow I won't be unhappy - I'd rather be there than about 75% of the seats.

Actually I've now come out the other side... There was a time when anything other than pit felt like a disappointment, but now I can enjoy the show pretty much wherever I am. Hyde Park was a turning point for me, as I ended up far back but had the greatest time. Plus they've really been pushing the limits of pit pricing: I can just about rationalise £350-400 pound, but pushing £500-550 I find unjustifiable, especially if seeing multiple shows.

Not disagreeing with anyone else's life choices, just reflecting on how my attitude has changed this year.

OK, so this technically is not about GA tickets but it seemed a good place to ask. Does anyone have any experience with the seats directly in front of the B stage? The first few rows are supposed to be limited view. Just wondering if anyone can share their experience in this section. Thanks.

I don't have direct experience but, funnily enough, I almost bought one for the Vegas show (my ticket purchase was last minute) so, when I went into the venue I went and checked them out. My impression was that for the first few rows (maybe 2 or 3), if you were sitting down then the B stage would block your view of the main stage. However, a) I checked a couple of times and everyone seemed to be standing up throughout the show, and b) as you move away from the centre of the block it is less of a problem because the stage is octagonal. I was thinking of buying seat 5 (I think, maybe it was 7) and I decided that would have been alright for seeing the main stage.

From going to gigs over the years I’ve found the old rumour is true, about the best sounding place in a venue is close to the mixing desk and that’s usually around the end of GA in Stadiums/arenas. If you get close to the GA rail in a direct line with the desk you’ll get good sound. I’ll take good sound over good seats at a gig any day. The PIT is an amazing experience but I’ve had equally as good a time at the back of the stadium with brilliant sound and just listening to the band. London night 2 a few years back was one of the best Stones gigs I’ve been to and the furthest back I’ve been also but the sound was killer from that place. (Almost directly behind the board in this case rather than in front)

This reminds me; is Dave Natale mixing the sound?

I've never done a proper "pit" per se, but I was just a couple rows back at the Aragon Ballroom in 2002 and I suspect I'll never outdo that. Agreed that the sound is good in GA, depending on where you stand, and there's a kind of communal atmosphere of its own in GA though I suppose different from the communal atmosphere of the pit.

I pulled the rear GA Field area via Lucky Dip at Tampa 2021. And while Lucky Dip buyers are not supposed to complain, I have to admit the back area was less than ideal. It was extremely difficult to see the stage from there. I’m between 5’9 and 5’10, and unless you’re on the taller side, it can be a struggle.

I got there just before the Stones took the stage, and no matter how I tried, I just couldn’t find a good vantage point to watch the show.

If you do wind up with the rear GA area, at least do your best to get there as early as possible and try to be towards the front portion of the section.
