I don't think it is Clapton. Maybe Marshall Chess. I looked up pictures of Clapton in 1971 and he looked different than there. May be I am wrong.Quote

How can a reliable 'full list' ever be established? Did Keith employ someone (maybe Bill?) to jot down everyone who turns up? It seems an impossible, and somewhat odd, thing to compile, anyway.

Why is anyone interested in who was there? Almost none of those people on the list would have added anything to the recordings. The only one Iwould be interested in would be Gram Parsons. He is the only one who might have added something musically.I would love if he and Keith had recorded any music they played together.

Marshall Chess is a good guess...looks a bit like him. Definitely not Slow Hand

Not to be obscene but the most eye-catching part of that picture for me is Keith's crotch...

The Clapton image is from la Salle de Sejour at Nellcote.
Its from May 13th or 14th 1971.
It has been identified as Clapton by Dominique Tarle who shot it, but I agree its a bit odd perspective. However, Tarle has two other shots of Clapton the day before, in St Tropez on Jaggers wedding, with the same haircut and beard.
Want to congratulate steffiestones for creating such a fun/nerdy detective work style thread, although it is probably impossible to get to the bottom of it. Today it seems there are as many people saying they were at Nellcote as Woodstock.
