Who Would Pay $10,000 to see the stones

I know i shouldnt be complaining about ticket prices, but i was browsing some ticket broker websites looking for tickets to the 1/20 msg show and on one of the sites a seat in Section A2 was $10,000- i think it has truly gotten out of control for the premium seats

If you could get 700 folks together who agreed on a setlist that the Stones would play, that'd be 10k each, with 7 Million for the Stones.

I might buy a ticket for that.

That's only 500 bucks per song. 500 bucks for Slave? Let It Loose? Can't You Hear Me Knocking? Sway? And all in the same night?

Hmmmmm.

I might buy a ticket for that.

Now I just need

a) 699 more people.
b) a setlist we could all agree on
c) The Stones agreement to play.

Should be a piece of cake.

You must be dreaming, camper. Of course the Stones would play but I assure you they negotiate their setlist. Otherwise it would mean a 3-months-rehearsal if they had to play all the "fan stuff" they never play. 700 people couldn't afford the Stones to rehearse for three months. Nope.

How was that guy called who ACTUALLY hired the Stones for a private party in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel 16 November 2002? He payed much more than $10'000 per nose, I believe he had only 150 guests or something.

If it wasn't for my divorce I would.

But they would have to play on my private garden party.

You would be more than welcome ofcourse.

I would pay 10 000 dollars for a show at the El Mocambo in Toronto, where they play only rarities, only one or two warhorses, and if Ron can get into tune, and if they play for more than three hours.

I would certainly pay $10,000 to see the Stones.....on EVERY STOP of the tour FROM THE FRONT ROW, or better from onstage with the band! Also, I would get to go back to the Stones hotel and have an adjoining room with MIck. For THAT I'd pay $10,000.

I "only" paid $500 for my front row center GA experience at the Aragon and $400 for my front row Keith GA spot at the Wiltern in '03. If I was someone with money (I charge everything on my credit cards), I would've paid WAY more for those experiences if I had to.

i agree....my friends father was a lawyer for the stones back in the 70's..and he took me to see the stones in the front row in philly in 1975..i never forgot that night....and i sure would spend someone elses $10,000. to do it again..ha.

Absolutely NOT!

And before anybody gets too enraged over what the broker is asking, the ticket will likely be sold for less, they always push it to the highest possible price just in case anybodoy out there really IS that stupid.

If i paid that much money i would want just them on stay with bobby keys and no back up singers or trumpet section. I guess i would have to have chuck there on keyboards but no blondie, lisa or bernard. Just keef doing back up. I would also require hand of fate and little t and a in the set.

Cap'n,

Of course I'm dreaming, that's why I put c) The Stones agreement to play on the list. That'd be as hard as getting 700 people to agree on a set list that we'd want to hear . . . but I can dream can't I?

On the other hand, if they offered a menu from all the songs they practiced this year, that might do the trick. Did they rehearse Slave this year or for Licks?

Debra - if you're asking for that much for such an outrageous sum of money, the only thing that surprises me is that you're settling for merely an 'adjoining' room....

I mean, if you're going to be fantasise, why suddenly get all realistic when it comes to hotel accommodation....

If I wouldn't pay $450 to see them why on earth would I pay $10,000 .
I would hope for the $10,000 you also get three or four free sessions with a shrink.

As far as I know they rehearsed that one in Toronto 2002 but there's no recording of it unfortunately. Probably Chuck couldn't imitate Billy Preston's organ.

Ah, if they would only play "Slave", they could leave off "Miss you", "You got me rocking" and more. I would like them to do a 30 minutes jam of "Slave", maybe even with guests. I can't get enough of that riff. Shit, I better go down to the supermarket, steal something of the shelves.

Do it, do it, do it, do it! Don't wanna be your slave, don't wanna be your slave...

I must admit I am shocked at the responses here. What kind of loser cant spend ten grand on a lousy concert? C'mon this is THE STONES we are talking about here. Of COURSE they are worth it at ANY cost, even if they aren't playing in your living room just for you.
