During this tour, Keith will, like 40 years ago, in an irresistible moan, grab his Open G and deliver us that momemtum for the new generations.

It came to Keith in a dream.

Yes, in 1965 it came to him in a dream.
I think in 2005 it came to him in his delirium. The new momentum is called "Infamy".

Perhaps the dream was in fact a premonition of the defining song of the 21st century but he remembered the dream and gave it to us a century early.

The next big one is always something new that comes
out of the blue and breaks the mold, a riff that defines a
generation. The Stones have already done this,
and as much as I still love them, it won't
be the Stones, but somebody new and
unexpected......................

yeah, i can see Jack White, writing the satisfaction of the century.

id put my vote on greenday, franz ferdinand, id have to think on that.

I should say that greendays good riddance might be one.

idon't think that any rock song nowadays can have the impact(is that the right expression??) that satisfaction had back then... but i guess franz ferdinadn can get close, so did Jack with Seven nation army..and how about the hives? oh, and what do you think of the singer's imitation of mick?(that s a bit irrelevant but..)

Who the f*ck is Mick Jagger?

Jack White - No. Not close.

Franz - decent band, but I don't see it.

Hives - Stone's rip offs...but I don't see it.

Its all a matter of perception. If anything makes you feel the same way you did when you first heard Satisfaction, then thats it. Cant say I listen to much new music but in the last 10 years, Rammstein and Supergrass had almost the same effect. Probably some other stuff that I cant really think about, not in the mood to dissect my whole collection.

Stop with "Don't Stop" as being the next "Satisfaction." It's a simple little diddy in open G tuning.Nothing spectacular.
