By the way, just saw an old Lou Reed interview in which he bashes all the British bands, starting with the Beatles... they should have not played rock and roll or anything, according to him...

Ironically, "R&R Animal" was one of his best commercial live productions at the time, no overdubs, or did Lou think that American bands where better at R&R?
First he bashed Zappa, next he installed him in the R&R hall of fame, calling him "a genius". Probably a disturbed childhood time.

This demo shows how vital John Cale was in opening Reed's mind and changing the way he approached music, sounds, soundscapes. I miss Reed. Boy, was he on top of his game when he left us?! Never a dull moment.

Nice garage feel overall there, the feel emphasized by no bass underneath.

And The VU were a quintessential art garage band.

Love Reed. Saw him 8 times 1986-2003, all in Japan, all fabulous.
