But has anyone heard of any tour plans for next year?

"The group will look at opportunities to play in other countries next year, Jagger said in an interview. 'We'll consider those offers, where we're going to go and where it will be fun, you know?' he said. 'It could be Europe, could be South America, could be anywhere'." - [www.Reuters.com] , [iorr.org] .

Haven't seen anything or I've forgotten if I did - are they using multiple stages on this tour like they usually do? I haven't been able to find anything about that anywhere.

The Rolling Stones Had the Biggest Summer of Their Career on Hackney Diamonds Tour

The 18-date jaunt grossed $235 million, pushing the legendary rockers further into uncharted Boxscore territory.

Is it really summer without The Rolling Stones on tour? The rock icons have toured North America, Europe or both for every summer but three in the last 12 years, consistently topping charts and setting records. After a break in 2023, the Stones returned for the Hackney Diamonds tour, playing 18 shows in 15 cities throughout the United States and Canada from the end of April through the middle of July. According to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore, the trek earned $235 million and sold 848,000 tickets.

The tour was in support of the band’s Hackney Diamonds album, released in October 2023. The set marked the Stones’ first album of original material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. Hackney Diamonds debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 — the group’s highest-charting album since Bang also hit No. 3 — and extended the band’s record for the most top 10s on the chart.

The Hackney Diamonds tour kicked off at Houston’s NRG Stadium on April 28, bringing the Stones to more than 40,000 fans. By the time the band wrapped at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on July 17, it had scored the highest-earning summer of its career. Its 2022 jaunt, Sixty, earned $120.8 million, and the biggest of its four No Filter Tour legs brought in $177.8 million in 2019. While they’ve made more money on yearslong treks, Mick Jagger & co. have never earned more than $200 million in a single season.

The Stones’ 2024 run was highlighted by double-headers in East Rutherford, N.J. (17 miles outside New York); Chicago; and Inglewood, Calif. (11 miles from Downtown Los Angeles). Each of those engagements grossed more than $20 million, topped by the New Jersey shows at MetLife Stadium on May 23 and 26, which earned a combined $29.2 million and sold 105,000 tickets.

Those MetLife dates mark a career peak, setting the highest gross of the Stones’ 35-year Boxscore history. The Inglewood and Chicago dates also fall in the top 10, while Denver, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Foxborough, Mass., line up in the band’s all-time top 20, all grossing between $15 million-$16 million.

Every market on the tour delivered an eight-figure gross, with the lone exception of Glendale, Ariz., whose May 7 State Farm Stadium show grossed $8.4 million and sold 44,800 tickets.

The Hackney Diamonds tour sets a new high for the Stones and pushes the band further into uncharted Boxscore territory. This is their sixth tour to earn more than $200 million and 10th to gross more than $100 million. Both counts are Boxscore records, extending their lead for the most nine-figure tours, now three $100-million tours away from the group’s closest competitors.

Dating back to a report for two shows at Philadelphia’s Veterans Stadium on Aug. 31-Sept. 1, 1989, the Stones have earned $2.9 billion and sold 28.9 million tickets.

Assuming the Vancouver show is included, which I doubt as the canadien gigs never release their data, the average audience would be 47,000.
Marie-France Remillard writes today on X : 902, 690 tickets sold. The average would then be 50,149 tickets per show. Which seems more realistic.

so. The band was great most nights, particularly after Keith’s ailment cleared up around show 4.

I think the band was amazing on all nights of the tour. But you'll notice if you watch songs like Sympathy for the devil or Jumping Jack flash on YouTube that Mick started saving his voice after the Boston gig, that's when they dropped Sweet Sounds Of Heaven for a while.
Keith was in full gear by the time they hit Las Vegas I think. NYC shows would probably make a great release.

Those 2 NJ shows were phenomenal. Would love a film release. Springsteen just did one with Disney+/Hulu which I thought was really in depth. Good footage of rehearsals, backstage, putting a model setlist together and all that. I think the Stones could do something really great starting with the making of the album. Maybe this is their plan after another Hackney Diamonds leg in 2025

I understand their not wanting to "step on" the amazing HD album and it's slipstream, but the reality is that it is no longer an album that is selling. Too bad but that's today's reality for "legacy" artists, and takes nothing away from the accomplishment.

Given their age, and last year's statement from Mick that the album was 3/4's done, I think what would be more impressive is a new release to complement a European tour. At this point a series of quality releases like HD would only further enhance their already stratospheric legacy.

I may be incorrect, but I believe the winner is "baked in the cake" as they say, as billboard just uses the sales figures to determine the winner. So whomever had the biggest gross.

The recent tours attendance is down in a majority of NFL stadiums.

New Orleans -

87,500 in 1981 sell out (1978 was just over 80k)

59,339 in 1989 sell out

32,687 in 1994

35,023 in 2019 sell out

What happened? Obviously the stages got bigger and bigger but not strictly the reason for less attended shows. 1994 had 40,000 available and only 32,000 showed up (supposedly - I was at that show and it was empty - and I heard later that week that only 19,000 people physically showed up). Yet 2019 less people was a sell out? The Stones played to 500,000 people at Jazz Fest in 2024 so there's no comparison except a lot less would've been in the Superdome.

Do they really need the gargantuan stages? 87,000 something people in 1981 - that's crazy. The Superdome has added more seating since then but that goofy cardboard looking stage didn't take up half the field, either, like STEEL WHEELS did - that thing looked like a cargo ship parked in a stadium.

They've had other dismally attended shows. 1994 was brutal - Birmingham, AL 19,893 showed up out of 50,000 available! Indianapolis had 25,000 out of 50,000. A handful of shows were not sell outs. Same thing with the BRIDGES tour. The BANG tour had quite a few undersold shows.

The ZIP CODE tour sold out every show - yet attendance was about 45-55,000 per show, except Detroit at 36,000 something.

They've made a ton of money regardless - think if the stages weren't so big how much more they could've made. U2 figured that out in 2009-11. 97,014 at the Rose Bowl. That's crazy. 88,491 in Giants Stadium.

No numbers out that I can see anywhere for the HD tour yet - Billboard might have them but I'm not a subscriber.

If that's the case the Stones won't win that one - Coldplay made way more money by playing a ton of shows, at least, in comparison to the Stones. But... Taylor Swift, ha ha... she's already cleared 2 billion dollars in sales.

Yes, I saw that posted up above. However, no word on if all of those or any of those were sell outs.

Few shows were real legit sellouts. Maybe Metlife 1&2.
