They would not have been The Rolling Stones if they hadn’t met Brian.

---we'd all have more money in the bank ..and wouldn't be wasting half our free time hanging around here.
Reading all of you guys since 2002 while listening to stones music has been a real pleasure in my life, thank you guys, thank you Rolling Stones, and most importantly, thank you BV!!
How do you know that? If they hadn’t answered Brian’s invitation to join him how do you know they both would have been in the same band .If they hadn’t been in the same band they wouldn’t collaborated on the great catalogue of songs they wrote togetherQuote

Jagger and Richards would have been equally famous though.

Because Jagger and Richards were friends, playing music, trying to get a band going, and hanging out in the jazz clubs of London trying to get a gig. They would have ended up in a band one way or another, and their huge talents would have made them seccesful one way or another.
They answered an add by Brian, but it could have been anyone's add they answered too.
The same with McCartney and Lennon: they were so hugely talented that they would have been succesful anyhow. They didn't need Ringo or George to become famous.
