Undercover was released 40 yrs ago today! 7 nov 1983.
As a 10 year old rock hungry boy i went downtown in Oslo and purchased this fantastic record. It totally blew my mind and i became a bloodfan.

The first Stones record I waited for feverishly ! Regularly calling the record stores around town...and then the single came out, the reviews, the interviews...The reviews were so-so, I was disappointed, in hindsight they were probably right ;-)

I love "Pretty Beat Up"

Great album! It's got an amazing amount of energy, fantastic backing vocals/harmonies, fantastic guitar playing and just a crisp enough sound to sound a little different than SG and ER before it (in regard to newly recorded albums).

Too bad the video version of the audio hasn't been officially released of She Was Hot.

Thank-you for your post and for sharing the excitement over the new Stones LP at the tender age of 10. I remember buying it on the day of its release too, 40 years ago today. It is a great album, underrated to this day, as you say. The fact that it was not backed by a tour may have something to do with it.

The final song "It Must Be Hell" is pure hit material, it could have been a Stones warhorse but it wasn't even released as a single - a true Stones classic with great lyrics too.

Maybe i'm wrong but it seems to me that are not the same song!

One is "Chainsaw Rocker/You Better Stop That"...the other one is "Untitled/Cookin Up"
