If You Can't Rock Me

Thoughts on this song? Good album opener I like it a lot 8.75/10 B+

Kind of straight ahead run of mill rocker. Liked it more as time went by
Really liked at Rehearsels in Toronto Gig. Never hear many praise or trash. Guess its viewed in general neither great nor stinks. Solid all the way Baby

Anybody passionate or hate with passion? MEZ

Totally love this song and have from the first hearing over 30 years ago. One of Keith's best riffs imo.

IYCRM is one of those songs that are better live than the studio-version. Another is It's Only Rock'n Roll.

I love the album track and thought the Licks version was pretty hot but the '75/'76 version was awful, putting it into a duff medley with Get Off Of My Cloud. Thank God they resuscitated the song in 2002/3.

really? wow....i thought it was a burner in 75! and it was a rare, clever stroke of the Stones to medley-fy it with Cloud.....

What tuning is Keith in on this?

The first of the "Start Me Up"/"Flip the Switch" cookie-cutter model. Not a promising sign. A good model if there's a touch of genius to the arrangement, but this doesn't quite have it. I also prefer the live '75 medley version.

Also like to point out Taylor's lean controlled opening licks which are damm
great.

Fu%#in' great song! This one could be the definitive concert opener for this tour...I mean, "Start Me Up" is way overused for this purpose, nowadays.

"got to be worked on
don't have no bark nor bite..."

I don't like Taylor's playing at the beginning - it gets in the way and adds nothing.

Great song, particularly in the version 75/76, where it is connected with "Get Off Of My Cloud".
