It was indeed hacked. And he cant get it back. Even reporting the woman who hacked it and who is now posting under another (possibly fake) name doesnt seem to get anywhere. Yet there are photos of Bob ON the account that she hasnt even bothered to delete, so its clearly not him. In fact, I even got a warning from facebook a few days ago for harassment for publicly calling her out on it!

Awful news. Was last in touch with him just 6 weeks ago and he seemed to be doing ok in rehab learning to walk again. Really lovely, generous guy.
