Two songs I love with (nearly) the same title, from two bands I love:

Far Away Eyes - Stones

Faraway Eyes - Gorky's Zygotic Mynci

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci! That brings back memories. Working at Knoxville's West Town Mall during the 1999-2000 school year in the shoe department, they had TVs with a loop (guessing a video JCPenny was obligated to show in the juniors dept.) of pop like Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc. Oddly enough, GZM was a video on that loop. Unique stuff, and clearly a breath of fresh air.

Good Times Bad Times - Stones vs. Zep = Both great, love them both.

Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd vs. Bad Company - Both great, love them both

Fire - Jimi Hendrix vs. Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Both great, love them both, though Jimi might have the slight edge with this matchup.

Crazy Mama - Rolling Stones

Crazy Mama - JJ Cale (also played by Paul Butterfield & Rick Danko)

Naturally, I prefer the Stones version. But the other one is also quite nice.

These two are different songs, not versions of the same. I like the one by Stones but must say that JJ Cale's song is pure genius.

Crazy Mama done by Paul Butterfield and Rick Danko - thanks for suggesting this, hadn't seen it before, awesome version and Blondie Chaplin shows up on this one also at around 6:20 - never knew he could play guitar like that. Very enjoyable performance all around.

Here's the motherlode of comparisons: "The Power Of Love". According to Wikipedia, there are no fewer than 16 unique songs with the same (or very similar) title. My vote goes to Frankie Goes To Hollywood, with Huey Lewis a close second:

"(You Got) The Power of Love", by The Everly Brothers (1966)

"The Power of Love" (Charley Pride song) (1984)

"The Power of Love" (Jennifer Rush song) (1984), and notably covered by Air Supply (1985), Laura Branigan (1987), and Celine Dion (1993)

"The Power of Love" (Frankie Goes to Hollywood song) (1984)

"The Power of Love" (Huey Lewis and the News song) (1985)

"Power of Love" (Deee-Lite song) (1990)

"Power of Love", by Judy and Mary (1993)

"The Power of Love", a composition by Percy Grainger

"Power of Love/Love Power", by Luther Vandross

"The Power of Love", by 10cc from Ten Out of 10

"The Power of Love", by Corona

"The Power of Love", by Ray Conniff

"Power of Love" (Joe Simon song) (1972)

"Power of Love", by Mahavishnu Orchestra, the opening track from their album Apocalypse

"Power of Love", by Gary Wright, from the album The Dream Weaver (1975)

"The Power of Love", from Sailor Moon & The Scouts - Lunarock soundtrack

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci! That brings back memories. Working at Knoxville's West Town Mall during the 1999-2000 school year in the shoe department, they had TVs with a loop (guessing a video JCPenny was obligated to show in the juniors dept.) of pop like Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc. Oddly enough, GZM was a video on that loop. Unique stuff, and clearly a breath of fresh air.

More than most music I listened to in that era, Gorky's still holds up for me. It's a good mix of a bit weird (at times) and beautiful playing. Similar to Kevin Ayers in that respect and Gorky's do have a track named after him. As well, Euros Childs (who is still putting out good music) collaborated with Ayers on his last record, The Unfairground. But I digress...
It is very odd that GZM was in the mix with those other bands you mentioned. I'm trying to think of what song would be poppy enough to fit into that mix The Patio Song, maybe.

The Going Down from Metamorphosis is way cooler than the Going Down they played in 2012. It's also something of a misnomer when you think about it

Heart of Stone by the Stones is one of my favorite Stones tracks but I prefer the same title by Chris Knight. If you track him down listen to Hell Ain't Half Full also.

“Heartbreaker”

Grand Funk Railroad/Led Zeppelin/Free/The Rolling Stones

They are all good, but if I pick one, it would be Led Zeppelin for me.
