It sounds to me that the guitar section was relatively sober in 1990. Jagger's orders?

For my money, it’s Keith and Ronnie’s best tour.

Really? I guess I haven’t heard any other songs featuring him shredding Spanish licks in the middle of a song.

Fantastic overview! The licks he plays in Rock and a Hard Plays is literally the same as the licks he played on Ruby Tuesday, including the sliding double stop. Completely new to me!

That was my first thought too - but if you listen carefully to the lead guitar played by Ronnie in this version you will clearly notice that this is Keith on a very good day - playing this solo.
Because: the minute Keith starts soloing Ronnies lead playing stops, and he plays chords.
Just listen to it again
It's better heard on the soundboard version:

By the way: the solo on the iorr albums original version of Luxury is played by Keith too - as is the solo on the ElMo 77's Version

The solo's on the live version are all Wood, Keith keeps chopping away the open G chords with heavy MXR Phase 100 sound.

Who is playing those palm muted 8th and 16th notes around 2:06 etc, is that Keith? It was very fashionable in 8-tees top 40 music .

This is really lame reasoning, and what a waste of time actually to post this. They build an entire career out of doing things we didn't expect or sounded different. If not, they would have spent 60 years playing Chuck Berry covers.
