Just listened to a couple of old Dionne Warwick LPs, and she covered a lot of his and Hal David's stuff. Sad, indeed.

RIP. Not my cup of tea musically, but nevertheless, influential and obviously so very talented.

Very sad, but he reached the great age of 94 and condolences go out to his family and friends.
Lot's of coverage of his passing on UK BBC TV.

Those aren’t covers… those songs were written for her.

Most of them, yes, once Bacharach found her.

Burt himself was one of the great non-singers of all time. In this clip he gives Hal David props for the brilliant lyrics of "Alfie."

Watching Burt perform the song and strain to sing it is somehow incredibly moving to me.

I've discovered his music very late, and I must say, I really enjoy his music. Beautiful compositions, nice structure and so soothing. I love it with glass of good cocktail.

RIP legendary Burt Bacharach

He and Hal David gave the world some beautiful music. Their songs will go on forever and have been and will be performed by many. He and Elvis Costello did work together. His works are worth checking out. RIP, Mr. Bacharach.

He defined the 1960s as much as the Beatles did. It's just that he defined them for people who were slightly too old to be going gaga over the Fabs. Sophisticated, hip young adults, people born before 1940.

I've just been perusing a wonderful 3-CD box set in my collection called The Look of Love: The Burt Bacharach Collection. I bought it for my mother when it was first released in 2006, and I reacquired it when she passed away in 2018. Seventy-five tracks, including virtually every hit recording of every one of his hit songs.

This one's a favorite of mine, from the original cast album of the Broadway musical Promises, Promises.

The epitome of the good old 60s gone. Those classic sweet and smooth yet not saccharine tunes — what’s not to like?
R.I.P. Mr Bacharach

R.I.P. Burt!

The name Bacharach has its origins in the loveley small village Bacharach am Rhein in the Middle Rhine Valley in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate. He refers to the German-Jewish roots of the family.

It`s nice to be here, .....

That's what I meant. "Sang" would have been the proper word, not "covered."
