For me , good taste in merchandising ends after the music, posters and the odd T-Shirt.

The rest is shameless exploitation, within the modern consumer society, of folks all too willing to be exploited.

That said...some folks love all the nonsense and nobody makes us buy it.grinning smiley

I have pretty similar thoughts, but I was thinking what could be 'good taste' merchandise that would somehow be relevant to the Stones and what they represent (teddy bears not so). Maybe booze, dope, cigarettes, mars bars, swimming pools, hair dye, work-out and rehab programmes, viagra, financial consultation and bad behaviour?smoking smiley

Steiff is standing for excellent quality and persistence. I think the same can be said about our boys.

I think this is nothing worse than the Lego tongue, very expensive Rolling Stones Whisky, watches or other stuff.

well people it seems will buy anything. As the brand itself is a money machine, I guess the bigger question is, what products potentially damage the brand, which threaten the value of the other products? Is Rolling Stones toilet paper a possibility?

If every once in a while they release a "Dirty Work", hopefully not too often, the brand can survive that.

Is the Stiff Bear their Dirty Work?

Umm... My wife is in love with this bear. Ugh.

My wife also. Maybe we can split it. I get the bear on weekends and holidays.

The Rolling Stones and Kiss are alike. They put their name on anything that sells. Quality or "values" has nothing to do with it.

What's wrong with the quality of Steiff?

Nothing. But maybe "branding" will diminish the value or status of the brand Steiff? A Rolling Stones teddy bear is a bit tacky if you ask me...

I like to have the tongue on my socks and stuff like that. That's not really merchandise to me, if its the usual everyday stuff you need anyway.
