Alice Cooper at the Nassau Colosseum (Long Island, NY) summer of 1977. On the billboard sign outside it read "Elvis Presley" and he ended up passing away a few weeks later.

I remember that. Elvis had been scheduled to play Nassau Coliseum on August 22, 1977 and died on August 16. Fans were conflicted about what they should do with their tickets; turn them in for refunds, or hold on to them as keepsakes.

Stones 1967

Tell us more... where? what was it like? 1966/1967 is when the band hit it's peak imo.

Westfalenhalle Dortmund in March 1967.
I was still 14 years young in March. Turned 15 in July and I couldn't
make it really near to the stage.
Pretty chaotic experience.

The Beatles, Dodger Stadium. August 28, 1966

Thinking back, what an incredible way to begin my fantastic concert journey!

Yes, hard to beat!

Interesting that most peoples' concert debuts on here are ROCK acts. I'm actually not a huge fan of Rock, preferring Rock 'n' Roll, Rhythm 'n' Blues, and sixties Pop. Which is I guess why I love the Stones' 1963-1967 era the most.

My earliest concert memory is when my parents took me to see The Nutcracker performed at Lincoln Center in New York City when I was five in 1970.

My first big Rock show was Rush on the Moving Pictures tour, September 26, 1980, at the Capital Centre in Largo, Maryland.

The Boomtown Rats at the Rainbow Theatre, London, Xmas 1978 when Rat Trap was number one. Joyous!

No support except for the Phil Spector xmas album that was played over the PA in full.

Herman's Hermits, Sept 2, 1967. The Who opened. I didn't even remember an opening act until about 10 years ago while doing some research. The album that hooked me was "The Who Sell Out" which came out 3 months after the show.

Heart was headliner
I know loverboy, blue oyster cult and Ted Nugent were on the bill I think that was it... in the words of Bono it was a Beautiful day

Its a shame that venue was torn down it was really scenic with the mountains in the back ground.

Judas Priest, Amsterdam, Feb 14 1981, with Saxon as opening act.

That would have been a great double bill to see! Priest on their Point of Entry tour and Saxon touring for Denim and Leather album. Saw Priest in 82 in Vancouver on the Screaming For Vengeance tour and Saxon in 83 when they opened for Iron Maiden.

Actually it was still Saxon's Strong Arm Of The Law tour, and Priest's Point Of Entry wasn't released until... two days later or so. They did play two cuts off that album already anyway, but it was a gig that sort of fell in between the tours for British Steel and Point Of Entry, because on the proper tour that followed they played different songs than the two that we got to hear (December 1981 Priest played in Amsterdam again, with Accept and Def Leppard as support acts).

One thing that I regret is the fact that Priest never played in Europe in 1982, which was the year when I consider them as being at their best.

Thanks for the update! Man, Saxon sure released a lot of albums in a short time frame. I remember buying The Eagle Has Landed at an import shop in Vancouver back in the early 80s.
I guess Priest was busy touring all of North America with their new found success with Screaming for Vengeance. I personally consider them at their peak with British Steel!
