New Flying Burrito Brothers soundboard from Altamont
Posted by: S.T.P ()

Haven't heard the whole song live from Altamont in this quality before. Is this new -or perhaps just me not paying attention?

it's new to me and sounds a lot like the mono soundboard we have of a handful of tracks from the stones set

i would assume they come from the same source

looking at the tumblr link the poster on youtube added where i assume he found the recording i found this

Something very special to wrap up the first work week of 2023 — a rare soundboard recording of the Flying Burrito Brothers at Altamont! Thanks to the anonymous donor who passed this along to me.

someones sitting on a holy grail of altamont tapes

hope i live long enough to hear them

just went to that tumbler page and the wetransfer link has expired now

nope

but we could ask the person who posted it on youtube

or better yet someone with a tumblr account could ask the original poster to put it up again

and maybe if this "anonymous donor" shared anymore with her

amyways could be a cool project for captain acid in the future

What mono soundboard are you referring to?

just a couple songs so far have surfaced but they sound similar to the recording you found

but your finding this raises the possibility of not only the stones but all the acts that day having soundboard recordings sitting around out there

there's also one for "the sun is shining" and i think part of another song but i can't find them on youtube

also may i suggest changing the title of this thread to something like "new flying burrito brothers soundboard from altamont" or something to that effect because this should be attracting more attention then it is

Wow, solid stuff. What a treat to hear on a snowy day in late January. Thanks for posting this up for us! Hope there is more music of this quality from that day in 1969.

Are these tracks different from the ones in this age-old You Tube from the collection of all Altamont Artists' sets?

yes they are different

these are mono soundboard recordings and the one you linked to on youtube is a much shorter audience recording
