I'm in - Tuesday 23rd ! It'll be interesting to see what the final line-up of contributory artists is. So far ....

Doyle Bramhall
Eric Clapton
Gary Clark Jr
Johnny Depp
Billy Gibbons
Imelda May
John McLaughlin
Robert Randolph
Olivia Safe
Rod Stewart
Joss Stone
Susan Tedeschi
Derek Trucks

It'll be nice to see a bit of Eric Clapton, Gary Clark Jr, Imelda May, Rod Stewart, Joss Stone, Billy Gibbons, Derek Trucks - all on the same bill. And whoever else'll join the final line-up ? Maybe Sir Mick for example !? He & Beck did do the White House gig for the Obamas after all ! Fingers crossed !

"Ronnie Wood" like this post apparently [www.facebook.com]

Usuap rip-off it seems per Ken S.'s post :

Don’t understand why tickets are around the £200 range. Sold out of course. I queued. Got to the select and buy stage and thought why so much. When did a gig become a £200 layout. Probably double with travel and drinks and meals etc. I bailed.
Most of the tickets are now on the official touting websites being resold at £800+
Madness and out of control.
Official touts making a fortune.
Websites charging the buyer and the seller. Money for nothing and the artists see squat of that. Some tickets sold 3 or 4 times.
But the bands can control the base price. Give the real fans the chance.
Maybe it’s just me.
I’m lucky I could afford it.
I Just decided enough is enough. NO.
Oh well.
It is what it is. Nobody’s come up with a solution yet.
RIP Jeff. I’ll watch the blu ray and buy the album I’m sure."

Same with me. Was on the page, with all types of tickets available, and decided not to.

If I lived in the UK or nearby I might well have gone for it.

Saw Beck a total of three times (I think) over a very long period of time, and didn't particularly enjoy any of the performances to be honest. Found him to be too purist and self-indulgent, downright boring in fact. So boring, that I actually walked out of two of those three shows, one was at the Shepherds Bush Empire, and the other was at the Royal Albert Hall.

My interest in this tribute to Beck is due to the line-up of all these other people. That in itself should make it a more interesting event. At least - I'm hoping so. The f***ing ticket was costly enough !!

Depends what you want from a show I suppose.

Jeff was certainly not the Rolling Stones in terms of "the performing arts"...

....but if you were looking to witness nothing other than sublime Musicianship...then he typically delivered.

[He never pretended to be a "performer" [...wouldn't even sing ! ] but I think he appreciated the help towards delivering a more balanced show when he teamed up with folks like Rosie Oddie and Bones for example.]

Jeff Beck was definitely a bit of a showman -the way he dressed, moved, sunglasses, huge batteries of Amps etc.
A good example is Crossroads 2007 if I remember it well. In contrast a player like John McLaughlin really didn't give a rat's ass at the same festival. He just played in his leisure summer clothes, plugging into a tiny amp with an incredible distorted sound. They might as well have closed down the festival after his performance to my taste. All the other players made me feel like going "cold turkey" for 10 minutes.

I just hope that the turnout of contributory artists is reasonably good, and that they choose some decent songs to perform. Nothing more/nothing less to be honest .....

No Tal Wilkenfeld yet ? I think she's probably most famous for her collaboration with Jeff Beck.

May more names be added to the lineup.

I saw Beck over 20 times and, unlike paulywaul’s post above, he never bored me. And also I’m a big fan of Clapton, his questionable vaccine skeptic, anti-lockdown stance aside.

I shelled out big dosh for two nights, but not without hesitation. Hope the shows will be worth the fortune and justify my expenses.

Beast, wow, both nights, looking forward to your reports!
RisingStone, with the performers on the list, and the artist they honor, it should be fantastic.
