You have in my opinion one of the best books of them in your collection

True adventures of the Rolling Stones

Of writer Stanley Booth. A pity it only spends the first few years of their career

Okay, shameless self-promotion--> I think y'all need a copy of my book on The Rolling Stones,
through the eyes of the *fans.* Back some years ago I interviewed fans on their introduction to the band, their favorite band members and shows, fan gatherings, and meetings with individual Stones.

Some of you are quoted in it: You Get What You Need: Stories of Fans of the Rolling Stones:[www.amazon.com]

Looks interesting! Actually, it has reminded me of another good one, 'Ronnie Wood's Smile: And Where It Led' by Wendy Ellison Mullen:

Click on the Amazon link, there's a "look inside".

The author is also a singer, and I discovered her, her music and her book when researching my own book ('Undercover: 500 Rolling Stones Cover Versions That You Must Hear!).

Here's her version of 'Dance (Pt. 1)' which I included in my "500":

Thanks, Congratulations, for your comment on You Get What You Need.

That other one is a fun book about the author and her adventures looking for Ronnie, stated simplistically.
I found it in researching my book also.

Yes, the "Look Inside" feature is useful to see the Table of Contents of any book.
Also, for anyone not familiar with the ins and outs of Amazon, if you log in, you can
often read actual excerpts of books using the Look Inside feature.

Sometimes the reviews are helpful too. cool smiley

This is the book that started it all for me. It had Stones songs sheet music in the back.

This was my first Stones book too. I remember seeing it in a bookstore but not having enough money to buy it and talking the bookstore owner into selling it to me for the cash I had with me. My copy is also a bit dog-eared.

I never read Jerry Hall’s Tall Tales. I’d like to out of curiosity, but it’s out of print and used copies for sale are too expensive. I don’t know why the publisher doesn’t re-release it as an ebook. That wouldn’t be costly to do and I’m sure they’d sell a few copies.

Richard Houghton's Book On The Stones 1972 Tour written by the fans who attended shows on this incredible Tour Of America! It just came out this past fall and I have a copy because I am one of the writers. The recollections are very interesting, to say the least. Check it out, Google SPENWOOD BOOKS & Richard Houghton and you'll see the book cover, it has a pair of dice on the cover.

The best one is yet to be mentioned: «Phelge's Stones»!

A well-written tale from a guy who was there from the beginning.

I never got round to getting that, something I need to rectify! The Brian years have always been my primary interest.

amazon

are you in the us?

if so ask if your library is part of the inter library loan program

because they just accepted my request and are shipping the book to my local library from a library somewhere in the us

and if it works for me it might work for you

Yeah it's a really great book !
My contact to James was in 2014 - he wrote me a very nice personal dedication in the book. This makes it as a very personal book for me.
Thanks James !

All the books of Olaf & Gerd are great, but I don't know if the old books are still available. But Olaf is also a member of IORR here.

Please forgive my ignorance all, as I've never seen a book written in 2 different languages....so is the same content written twice on each page? Once in German and once in English? There's no content missing from either language? Meaning nothing written exclusively in one but not the other?

I have a book called "Rolling Stones - Musik und Geschäft" that is not missing in any collection because it's basically full of shit. The interesting part is that it was printed in the German Democratic Republic in the 80s so it is sort of interesting from a historic point of view. It's got everything: wrong lyrics, wrong info, outright slander and not so sublime propaganda. On second thought, maybe it does belong in the collection
