Which Stones books are missing in my collection?
Posted by: bluenote ()
Date: January 9, 2023 17:18

Actually only since a couple of months, I am trying to build a nice collection of Rolling Stones books.

What do I have so far (or at least in order, pending arrival)?

- Nellcote chronicles
- Charlie's good tonight
- Under Their thumb
- The sun & the Moon and The Rolling Stones
- Rolling Stones - Priceless
- Ronnie
- Life
- Unzipped
- All the songs
- Autobiographical Stones from David Dalton
- The first 20 years from David Dalton
- Rolling Stones in the Netherlands
- A life on the road
- Mick Jagger
- True adventures of the Rolling Stones
- Sympathy for the devil
- Stone Alone

I am pretty sure during summer I was reading a thread about Stones books, but I tried several searches without any success!

Are you talking about Matt Lee's book?

Thanks! I understand your bias winking smiley
Besides the very nice work and dedication, the song covers are not my biggest interest. Sorry for that, not trying to diminish the effort you put in!

By Philippe Margotin and Jean-Michel Guesdon. This is the Dutch version. It tells the story behind all 365 official released songs, up to Blue and Lonesome. (So Livin'in Ghost Town is the only missing song at the moment). Very nice book.

Two of my favourites not mentioned above are the (coffee-table) books:

- The Rolling Stones On Air in the sixties
- Tashen The Rolling Stones (updated edition).

THis is my favourite, great book, with a lot of information of every song and all the records. This is the link of the english versiĆ³n.

Rolling stones All songs expanded

The same authors have written similar books about Bob Dylan,Bruce Springsteen and other artists. I have the Bob Dylan book and is really good

"Old Gods Almost Dead"

The only one that talks about the (difficult) B2B sessions AFAIK, apart from Keith's "Life" that mentions a few tidbits.
