see Royal Mint => [www.royalmint.com]

The design is rather poor. Royal Mint had so well designed coins in recent years – and now this. What a pity!

One more time without Bill but maybe this guy never existed!

Sorry to say but this is really bad compared to the others. At least Keef has his Riff arm up in pose. The stamp collections they did are very nice though.

Stamps and coins. That's the way to honour the 60th Anniversary. The band itself has not made much fuss about it: El Mocambo and SIXTY tour, business as normal, that is. That's how elder English gentlemen celebrate for having achieved a certain age. No bullshitting. Cool. thumbs up

Seemingly Queen (the band), Bowie, Elton and The Who have had their coins already. The other Queen seem to hide away to the history with the Stones. Nice that the band still got her on a flip side, not Charles The Third (hmm, she was said to be against Mick's knighthood, and seemingly never been any big fan of his. I wonder had she accepted the coin if she'd been still alive? Or does she had a say?)

What a load. No Bill? No Brian? No Mick Taylor? It's not like you can argue that Ron Wood was there the whole time, like Mick, Keith and Charlie. Just because you left the Rolling Stones doesn't mean you weren't part of what made them great. After all, the songs being played every night almost always involve Bill, Brian, or Mick Taylor.

It's not so much a commemorative coin as a petty money grab.

There should be an El Mocambo coin.

A loonie?

You can not fit 60 years of history on a small coin face. Still, when you look at the coin, how do you state who is the guitar player next to Keith? It looks pretty generic to me. Sure the bass player is missing, but Bill left some 30 years ago.

That is very clever Mr. Topi, but you should know that the loonie was first issued in 1989, so from a historical perspective not a match!

I have the silver coin and the one below sitting in a cart...I'm looking at them, delivered, $200.

I've decided I'm not worthy.

I'm sure you'll all agree, don't be too vociferous in your enthusiastic agreement.

I’ve been debating all day myself. Not sure what the going price of silver is. Does anyone know if these are pure Troy ounces of silver?

Well, I plumped this morning for the silver proof 2oz limited edition (550), which sold out in no time.

In the interim, they upped the price of the most expensive gold proof one to £12,500. Didn't pay attention to the exact figure, but the price when I first went on the site this morning was under £12,000.

Meet the maker:

And most of the songs they play in concert today had Bill on them, and Mick Taylor on a lot of them.

If the purpose of this collecors item would be to fit 60 years of history on it, there would be no coin but a DVD, Blu-ray Disc or book.

I kind of like it as an inexpensive memento/keepsake of 60 years. Got one to be shipped to the USA all in for around $30.00. Hard to complain about that for a souvenir.

I got 1 of the stamp sets. It's pretty nice.
