This type of play happens in all sports. Referees let the players play and try not to influence the outcome based on a borderline call. Get used to it, this is big sports now with a lot at stake for tv networks, owners, players, and fans.

This is a perfect example of a referee making a bad call and possibly influencing the match by red carding the Moroccan player.

The best fans in this tournament, by the way, I thought were the Senegalese fans. They had all kinds of fun back there!

I really think England are the ‘nearly men’ of international football. From the first tournament I followed them in, Euro ‘96, they’ve consistently failed and flustered when it matters: a quarter-final; a semi-final; the Peabody shoot-out. We absolutely bottle it: Pearce; Waddle; Southgate; Batty... and now, Harry Kane. That Miss was so spectacular, it’s ridiculous. He buries those away, ordinarily. The pressure of the world stage denies England once more.
