Do they use a new calculation for the extra play time Netherlands - Senegal 8 min extra. / Whales - US 9 min. extra ?

U.S. Commentators on one of the games I watched yesterday, mentioned in regards to the large length of extra time that the FIFA officials had told the match referees that they wanted to be sure there were a full 45 minutes of play in each half.

Yet, if I'm not mistaken, I think I just saw 3 goals in the 1st half of Aus/Fra and only a bit more than 1 minute of extra time.

It'll be interesting to see if any patterns develop.

Peace,
Mr DJA

It was a six minutes extra time.

FIFA referees committee chairman Pierluigi Collina backed referees adding extra-time to games, saying the purpose is to offer more show to those watching the FIFA World Cup.

They have a separate 4th referee in charge of timing unreasonable delays in the game, like extended celebration of goals, injuries etc. It was clear to be seen in the Argentina game, where Saudi Arabia did a lot of time delay actions. It was all clocked and added to the game.

While it is great to see (finally) the actual playing covering more of the 2 x 45 minutes, it is funny that under those weather conditions the dudes are now running there some 15 minutes more than usual.

That's also possible because the stadiums in Qatar are utilized with air conditioning.

According to the Dutch trainer Louis van Gaal the temperature in the stadiums -for the players- can be lowered to 18 degrees celsius.

Saw about their anti-LGBQT stance. And no beer.

Ah but it's their country - the host decides.

2022 World Cup is not about the world, it's about remaining in the stone past.

The countries/teams agreed to play under such anti-human aspects.

How incredibly unfortunate to go play for the sport and not represent humanity.
