The FIFA World Cup 2022 is on from Nov 20 to Dec 18.

PS. I was planning to ignore the games, for well known reasons, but once the ball is rolling, the game is on, and I watched the great performance by England today, I just felt it was right to have a thread about the games.

Moving the World Cup to the winter is OK for me (you can't hold a World Cup there in the summer with 50 degrees Celsius).
Other things are much worse there, the FIFA is just ridiculous.
On the other hand, I just love the game and would like to watch the best football players in the world.
I'll watch the games - and yes England were great, but Iran were also probably the easiest team in the group.
Brazil, Argentina, England and Spain are my favorites for the cup - and i'm from germany ....

I was also thinking about ignoring the games (and not only due to Finland surprisingly not qualifying this time...), but, in the end, It's Only Football, But I Like It..

A good one that Senegal vs. Holland.

The Dutch need to improve but there's still a lot of potential. Ecuador and Qatar give the Dutch team a good chance to explore it. Then the real test will come. Teams like Brazil are frightening.

Yeah they couldn't believe the sharks (bookmakers) will cry as I bet a draw...

For the first time since 1986, Canada is in the World Cup! I'm hoping they can get at least one win in their group. I was surprised to see that Alphonso Davies is rated as the most marketable Canadian athlete. Obviously must be popular in Europe, where he plays for Bayern Munich. I'm sure most Canadians wouldn't know who he is if you showed a pic of him in street clothes! Before Bayern he played with the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Wearing my yellow Australia kit today, let's see if that helps, lol.

(Oh, DGA35, I've got a Team Canada 1986 Retro style kit coming from eBay..!)

In that case you ought to be very impressed by the fact that we were shoulder to shoulder (nearly, he's rather tall) with the Australian Goalie at a luggage carousel in Sydney Airport a few weeks ago.
