Watching this and then Havana Moon is a night and day difference. 4 years later Mick is performing so much more relaxed and elegant that you feel like he got younger. In 2012 he seemed really old, singing and moving with a lot of tension.

Yes. And it's natural. In 2012 they had to proove themselves and from 2013 they were rolling again.

Yep. The Stones were always the best when they didn't feel they had to prove themselves and just going with the flow.

We also need to take into account it's their 4th show on the tour after a long break. Mick is obviously on edge with the added filming. He's always on edge but this one seems worse. He's very stilted and tense. Hoping the greatest hits second half is better.

Confused...

Is the entire pay per view show on this release (VIDEO )?
dvd or blue ray?, either one
Or is it audio cd only?

Complete show on CD, DVD and Blu Ray (minus the show opening)

Why "minus the show opening" ?
On my japan-edition is the intro with the "gregory drummers" included.

The "show opening" probably means the intro film with the fan interviews.

If you are talking about the Dec 15 show, it was the fifth show. Two in London, Barclays and the the Dec 13 Newark show preceded the Dec 15 show.

On CD the fan intro and the Sympathy drummers intro is missing. On Blu-ray the fan intro is missing.

I have not purchased the product in any of its formats yet, and probably never will, but I like that "Doom & Gloom" version released on YouTube. That rocks! I like the way the riff is reworked as a sum of all guitarists (well, mostly Mick and Ronnie), and not sounding so 80's ZZToppian like the original. Mick probably a bit over-tries, but that's alright. Surprisingly balanced performance with okay sounds.

I liked the studio original, but I recall it making not big impression when I heard it live - well, a Stones concert is such a storm of 'bigger than life' songs that to stand out is not easy - but now taken out of the context it is surprisingly good. I think the song is a good modern-day Stones rocker, and I don't think they could even write much better songs. Much better than, say, "You Got Me Rocking", a rocker that they seemingly have decided being a modern classic (anyway, that song does work very well in concert as a second song or so, though)

At the time, I thought this show was tamer than the show I saw in London earlier.

However, after listening through it it sounds better than expected. A good show. IMO, one of the better latter-day releases.

On CD the fan intro and the Sympathy drummers intro is missing. On Blu-ray the fan intro is missing.

So the intro mini-film IS on the DVD isn’t it? I was in the film!

I only own Blu-ray but I think it's the same as DVD so the intro with the fan interviews is missing!

The Japanese Rolling Stone has a story about GRRR Live! - [RollingStoneJapan.com] , [www.Universal-Music.co.jp] . Google Translate or DeepL help with the translation from Japanese.

On my japan-edition is the intro with the "gregory drummers" included.

so the complete 90 seconds of the drum intro is on the Japan edition - without any interviews etc ??

Yes the fan voices/interviews are missing.
The drummers intro are included on DVD/BR. (round about 100 sec.)
On the CD no intro, sadly.

Finally got mine delivered today from the Stones store - a week later (I am in US). Kinda pissed - I ordered the Blu-ray and 2CDs, received the DVD/CDs. My email even shows BR. Content wise, I don’t think there is a difference and probably not a huge difference in quality, but still…
Sent them an email - will see if I get any reply.

I did get an email back from the RS Store - I sent them the requested 2 pics of the DVD instead of the Blu-ray I ordered, and they said they can exchange it via mail. Needless to say, I will be watching the DVD 1st this weekend.

Ditto on the Blu Ray, extraordinary. Watched this on PPV but it's been 10 years and I was likely over served so a lot I don't remember. Have only watched half or so but that version of Wild Horses is in my top 2 with the stripped version. And Going Down, well is simply killer. Love the duelling guitars.

Watched up to Rambler last night - on DVD, until I get the blu-ray (hopefully, as I ordered). Question though - anyone else feel Ronnie is really low in the mix? Watching Goin’ Down as an example - John Mayer cranks out of my speakers as does GC Jr. Ronnie’s solo, I could barely hear him. Same with Wild Horses. I wonder if it’s due to the DVD (which otherwise seems fine)….? Anyone else feel Ronnie is ‘buried’ in the sound mix?

Ronnies solo on You can't always get what you want is another example of a terrible mixing.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Why? Just listened to it again on Spotify and the mix is really good with Ronnie upfront. Or is the Blu-ray stereo mix different?

Maybe he has a wrong sound setting with the BluRay - Dolby Atmos instead of Stereo.

When I first saw this show I thought they sounded a bit old. Less sloppy and rough than in 2007 for sure, but lacking some energy instead.

Everyone looks focused and dialled in, determined to deliver a worthy 50th anniversary show.

Overall it's a good show and definitely better than many other shows they've done the last ten years.
