A better set than what’s already been floating around in trading circles? I hope so

Love a good cover. But there are just TOO many on this set given Petty’s own self penned greatness. Crazy Mama though, I can’t wait to hear this.

It's JJ Cale's Crazy Mama. But Satisfaction is on there as well.

there are also a couple of other songs from the Stones' cosmos:
- It’s All Over Now
- Time is On My Side
- Bye Bye Johnny
- Around And Around

This is not the same as the Stones' song?

No,but still a nice tune. And as Slewan stated there's a lot Stones related material on the album.

‘Live at the Fillmore, 1997’ by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Review: Free-Rein Rock ’n’ Roll

A newly released set shows the musician and his band in fine, fiery form as they play through setlists that include ’60s classics and their own lasting hits.

Basically Petty is paying hommage to all his influences. The Stones being one of them.
The Heartbreakers are a fine coverband. It's a nice album, with no really outstanding
performances. Mike's interpretation of Keith' wild solo on It's all over now shows us
how great Keith really is.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

well, I listend to all 4 CDs and although I'm not a big Petty fan I think it's a very good live album. Lots of covers but some also some fine and surprising versions of Petty's own songs

I bought the two discs version, listened to it twice ...

and orderd the 4-CD deluxe version.
It is a wonderful live album, and it sounds good, the band is very alive

Tom Petty's version of 'Boogie Chillen' featuring John Lee Hooker is much better than the Rolling Stones' version at Atlantic City 89

The version of "It's Good to be King" is absolutely stellar. "Last Dance with Mary Jane" too.

The aimlessness of that version had a lot to do with [checks notes] John Lee Hooker himself!

At that point John Lee was playing with the Lord more than the band.

I know. I saw him somewhere between 97 & his passing. Also, before. First time he was great, the last time not so much.

He was truly unique, saw him a couple times in the 80s myself!
