2021 16" MacBook or currently iPhone 14 PM

I like tech.

yes the forum appearance reminds me of websites we built using Office 97 the icons at top toolbar were in that program smiling smiley

I have asked before and I belief the owner is happy with what he uses as he knows it well.

Yes its archaic now denying that but chuck full of info on the band I love so I'll deal with it. but the stones have evolved so should the fan websites smiling smiley

Based on responses of folks actually liking it tells me people don't like change and many are not to tech savvy.

or don't fix what ain't broke

this site works for people a lot of which are folks in there 60's and 70's

not a age group that's synonymous with being great with computers (not trying to be ageist or anything just born out of personal experience)

plus i don't really think bv has the time or energy to do a complete overhaul of the site

he seems exacerbated enough with just dealing with moderating the site

Primarily iPad, sometimes iPhone. We don’t need fancy bells and whistles. This site works just fine and has such good tour info and interesting and fun conversations. It doesn’t need upgrading. It works just fine as is.

95% of the time I use my Ipad. The rest of the time I use my Iphone. I’m pleased with the IORR site.

Absolutely. His work is why it continues to work.

A lot of apps and sites have changed over the years where at times the usage was a bit mystifying at first but after a week etc normal.

The only exception I can think of is Google Play to YouTube Music - a complete nightmare. Google went backwards in ways that involve steps that never existed.

In regard to iorr.org I don't see why an updated scheme/layout is necessary.

iorr.org? It's fine the way it is.

iPad, iPhone and windows pc here.
I recall a while ago BV suggested updating the site and it was a resounding NO from most of us.
While the latest wizbang appeals to some, the consistency here is familiar and it works for many I feel
Change for changes sake is not progress

IORR.org is running on open html standards, supporting the original idea of The World Wide Web (WWW), invented by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in 1989, and opened to the public in 1991.

The whole point of the original www is being open, networked and fast, while closed word processing systems owned by companies, such as MS Word, are slow and closed.

The www has been developed a lot over the 30+ years it has being around. I do support the developments by The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), they are keeping the www open and fast. Sure there are new devices, like small er hand held and so on, but I will never make an IORR app, that is a commercial thing not open, not fast, not related to www at all.

Sure the IORR forum solution (Tell Me, All Sold Out, Hot Stuff) is not scaling perfect with device types, but so far I have not had the time to do anything about it. As long as they tour every year, there is no time.

Having said that, all editorial pages on IORR are scaling to any screen and device size.

tablets (iPad) & PC/ laptop(-s).
IORR works perfect on those.
Plus: that's how it was intended.

PC, laptop, and 5 minutes ago (for the first time ever) my iPhone. Pages load super fast, easy to expand links and other content, YouTube and other files load quickly.

IORR is great the way it is.

iPhone, iPad and iMac.
Obviously I enjoy my iMac (27") by far the best. Downloaded clips sound great and many times great photo's are shown! The last couple of years even magnificant photo's! A real joy!
Please leave the site as it is!

And do you consider it a good way to use this forum?
I mainly use an iPhone and I consider the format as archaic and barely useable by current standards. This forum hasn’t been updated in literally 20 years. Is there anyway to update this by donations?

Maybe you should make a screen shot how IORR is displayed on your screen if you use the wrong template it can be horrible to read and navigate...................

I'm just grateful to BV for running this forum all this time. It (appears to be) a labor of love, and for that I am nothing but thankful.

To "update" would be to put the emphasis on the technology. For me, it's the community and the band.

Loved it then, love it now!

My laptop most of the time. iphone v occasionally.

The site is perfect the way it is. Please please do not change it

Its the quality of the Stones discussions, news, etc etc, that is important

I couldn't care less about the aesthetics of the site. Simple black and white with a sprinkling of colour.

I use all devices, I can manage to read things fine even with reading glasses, and I just figure out shortcuts to make things easier. Best one is to search authors for "bv" to get his updates. If I have to post a photo then, yes, PC is much better. But give BV a break and figure out how to do things better on your end; this is FREE, ACCURATE, and BV is a great journalist.
