Among other things his document of the recording of Sympathy for the Devil is (for us) very important.

Completely overrated film director but "A bout de souffle" and "Le mépris".

Who can watch "One+One" now without being completely bored but the sequences where the Stones are recording Sympathy.

As a film critic he was very dogmatic and unfair.

Do you also heckle the deceased at funerals?

Among the french film directors from his generation Louis Malle and François Truffaut have done much better films IMHO

Many would agree, I'm sure. Many would also agree that Godard was an important and influential filmmaker regardless of whether ONE PLUS ONE is pretentious twaddle. Somewhere online, I'm sure someone also derided Charlie Watts' death by pointing out that of his generation, only Keith Moon and John Bonham mattered. It tends to make one seem foolish at best, ignorant at worst...unless one's goal is simply to stir the pot.

Alain Delon talking with a journalist about Godard once say "With him, you'll never know if his next movie will be a masterpiece or a complete bull@~#].

When this becomes a "top ten french film directors of all time" thread, your point will be no doubt be worthy of consideration.

RIP great and a very influental film director (ask people like Tarantino or Kaurismäki).

A great little detail that roads of him and the Stones crossed once.

RIP to Jean-Luc.

Would be nice to see an edited version of One Plus One with just the Stones parts!
