The big question is: what are we getting for christmas in the year of the 60th anniversary -a pair of new socks????

There hasn't been a word about getting anything this year for the usual Stones Christmas package. El Mocambo might be it. (And believe me I'm grateful).

A while ago I posted that I heard they were talking with ABKCO, but so far the remastered and cleaned-up 60's promo videos on YouTube seem to be the only "joint venture" outcome.

But the 60th anniversary year is not over yet, so there's still hope...

We're getting close to this year's ending. If the Stones would have planned something special about their anniversary, they'd already been sneaked on that ... I doubt another special than the BBC series

Nothing? So the release of a new studio album next year will be all more important...
(just guessing here).

I’d like another show from the 1975 tour. Maybe Buffalo, NYC, Boston or the Elton John show

A great sounding1972 show would be the best. Also the Nicaraguan Benefit Concert, Boston or NYC1975show,a1967 European Tour Show and a 1973 Pacific Tour Show

Couldn't agree more. The Nicaragua Benefit show finally released including the encore Midnight Rambler, would be a dream. A compilation of the Winter Tour shows would be cool too. Hollywood Palladium 72 with HTW. And it's about time to release a complete 1970 show!! And indeed more 66/67 live material. So lot's of work to do for the Stones office to keep the vault releases alive. If they need help, just call smiling smiley

Well, if the vault isn't empty, or they think it isn't, it doesn't look like we'll get anything until the new year. I am a bit surprised. I guess El Mocambo will have to be the closest to a Stones Christmas release this year. It's awfully late in the season to promote anything new. They almost always have something for the holidays. Not this year. Especially vexing considering it's the 60th. Even ABKCO, zilch. Maybe the vault is finally drying up.

Call me a maniac but I have a feeling that something is not cooking well with Universal.

That old announcement from 2018 reads
_______
Eagle Rock, the UMG-owned leading producer and distributor of music programming for broadcast, DVD, Blu-Ray, TV and Digital Media, have expanded their global distribution rights to the band’s extensive long-form audio visual catalogue. As part of the agreement, Eagle Rock will also re-issue several classic concert films from their archives including: Atlanta (1989); Steel Wheels (1989-90); Voodoo Lounge (1994); Bridges to Babylon (1997-1998); Four Flicks (2002) and Bigger Bang (2005-2006).
_____________
This part is done one way or another.
New album was not finished. But we got more - El Mocambo + extra greatest hits compilation Honk. So, what now?

The situation reminds me that of 2005-2006 when they were closing the deal with Virgin. Lack of information and communication, uninspired Rarities....

Even Universal Music Japan keeps silence since August 23. Look here for the news line
[www.universal-music.co.jp]

and compare, for example, with this

That's too bad. It was not a great night for the Stones, especially Keith.

Of course, a massive release of finished or unfinished outtakes, as is, warts and all, would be welcome.

There are still some juicy artifacts out there. From the 60s I hope there's some decent audio from '66 or '67. A complete concert from '72. (Which shouldn't be hard with the Philly recording.)

Was Toad's Place in '89 recorded? Or Sir Morgan's Cove in '81? Was there a European small club equivalent in '82, or '90?
