I was thinking... wouldn't a live box with concerts recorded from your own country be a good idea? For example a "Swede box" with recordings from concerts in Sweden between 1965 to 2022?
Or a "French box" or "Norwegian box"? With CD:s and even DVD:s? Just a wild thought. Probably has nothing to do with reality, but all the same...

Yes, but is there an archivist in the organization?
That’s what I love about the Grateful Dead, they release venue box sets or tour box sets plus a Dave’s Picks release of minimum 4 shows per year spanning their career. Especially interesting because set lists vary. They have a great archival team, always releasing stuff and cool designed box packaging.

At this point there's not much money to be made from Vault concerts. Every period has been captured by official releases. The general rock music fan has enough material to listen to. With these kind of releases you won't generate any significant streaming counts and there are not enough hard core fans to sell enough physical copies. You can make more money with a single concert than with all future live releases.

A new album would generate way more money. A new best of probably too although the area of best of albums is probably over too.

Up to now there are no official releases of both the 1970s tour and 1973 tours (Australia, Europe). Hopefully that gap will be filled soon.

I also hope for club shows of the tours 1981 (e.g. Fox Theatre Atlanta), 1989 (e.g. Tod's Place imn New Haven).

Brussels was released from 1973. So that leaves 1967, 1970, 1979, 2007, 2014, and 2017 onwoards the years with no official live releases. I'd love something from 1972 as I can't stand the L&G Soundtrack.

Paris 1967 was officially released, although not in a physical format.

I wish they would just release a full show from the Steve Jordan era. Those 2021-2024 tours have been really great and digitally recorded anyway, so except for the mixing no additional cost for restoration etc. required.

You're right, that was with the copyright protection releases. Although it was just a copy of the bootlegs and not any vault release with a proper mix. And it wasn't authorized by the Stones.

Haven't seen Brussels Affair in the "From the vault" look ;-) I meant video recordings not albums. Here we've got plenty of bootlegs from each period.

70 had the complete Leeds, no?

But I agree about 72 - a proper release from that tour is the main thing missing.

Leeds was 71, where we have complete Marquee and 5 tracks from Rundhouse as well.

Something like "Ice Cream In The Foyer" in soundbaord quality is all I want!

SDE site in today's review and predictions for 2026 Superdeluxe reissues does not even bother to speculate about The Rolling Stones. They are not mentioned in the article.

Very nice website but he leaves out a lot of bands that I like. Nice guy but I don't think he's much of a rocker.winking smiley

I do enjoy that site, but certain bands get preference (I suspect his favourite bands, which is fair enough) such as Steven Wilson and (?) Joan As Police Woman - who I have never heard of anywhere other than that site. I also think he is more of a Beatles guy than a Stones guy.
Still, it does provide some interesting reads!

As mentioned above the Stones can really use an archivist like the Dead, when we get something from the Stones it always could have been so much better. The Dead has real fans doing this that are passionate. It makes a huge difference.

I never knew that there was a stereo recording from the concert at Paris, Olympia, April 11. The youtube versions are spectacular, but does anyone think that the original tapes still exist so it could be remixed in even better quality?

However, listeners have to accept that the vocals are not as perfect as on the studio recordings so it is a true live document. It is a wonder that singers even sang so good when there were no speakers on the stage so they probably couldn't even hear themselves. This might be a reasons why the Rolling Stones do not release those recordings officially.

Does anybody know if the Honolulu concert from 1966 was recorded in stereo? Otherwise the Paris recording would have been the first one that was recorded in true stereo (apart from the well-known recording from Alexandra Palace, London in 1964).

As for the video, I know that Prague 90 from the Urban Jungle tour is in the works. However, when it comes to the release, there are too many unknown factors to have a clear idea.

It was different. We had to pay for it, and it was an authorised release.

There was more stuff on it than the show.

Release an album and BluRay from the 2013 tour. We got some great set lists and with Mick T on board they were excellent shows from start to finish.

Release an album and BluRay from the 2013 tour.

Didn't we get 'Sweet Summer Sun' from Hyde Park 2013 which was part of the 2013 tour? And Glastonbury 2013 is at least available unofficially on BluRay.

I think there's "one off gigs" waiting for a box-set release, LA Fórum '73, K.Fair and the "Blind Date" ...

I like the idea of Prague '90.

Interesting! That was the historical "The tanks roll out, The Stones roll in" concert. Just for catching a historical moment that would make a nice release.

That would make a great title for a live release…

Is there anything known to be recorded on film that hasn't been released so far? I was very surprised to see Shephards Bush 99 was recorded on film. I never heard of that before.

I have been hoping for years that the three concerts in New York in 1969 will be released in their entirety. There are some pretty good soundboard recordings on YouTube, which suggest that there is plenty of usable material.

I’m sure the Maysles estate owns the rights and the actual film to all 1969 film footage. The stones probably have no legal right to any of it. It would be wonderful to see but I think it never will be since the 50th anniversary would have been prime to release it.
