Nice article.. I've only met Matt briefly at a show, and he's been kind enough to answer my email questions about collectibles, so enjoyed reading and getting more of a sense of his background and passion.

Luckily unmarried? Perhaps by design. What wife would allow that sort of undertaking?

I have to watch like a hawk to intercept those Amazon deliveries.

Haha! I bet, treacle!

He seems to be living life his way. I admire that. Make your own path and make no apologies for not living like society tells you to. I have never been married and have no kids, but I love people and true human connections. No regrets about it at all!

Sadly trapped behind the barrier like everyone else... does make the shot tough especially with the fans / monitors etc... means I do quite a lot of tight shots to exclude the obstacles from the composition but it makes it harder to keep steady! I am just glad people enjoyed the videos, that makes them worth doing...

Marriage is an outdated concept, I think. A long-term relationship without that legality is far better. Of course, you may still not have the freedoms that a singleton enjoys!

The topic "How do hardcore Rolling Stones fans manage to survive in relationships with non-fans" deserves its own thread here...

I bet many of us here have had our passion interfere heavily with the clichées and expectations established by relationships. In my case attending a club gig led to a divorce (thankfully), to name just one instance from my private life.

The true Rolling Stones passion is usually eternal and unjeopardized. That represents a threat for the non-passionate partner, a steady distraction, a competition if you will, including the fear of becoming irrelevant compared to equally devoted fans. All this is not pleasant for the RS fan either, hence plenty of potential for friction, alienation, unhappiness.

While we fans can definitely live with and understand partners lacking our passion, being criticized or ridiculed for it is a different story, as is any attempt to restrain us in acting out our love for the Stones.

The desire to live peacefully as a devoted, active Rolling Stones fan may well be stronger than the one to sustain a relationship in which that passion cannot be pursued.

Hence "luckily unmarried" makes perfect sense - in this context and perhaps many others.
