This year is unique. The album will be unique. The tour will be unique. I am sure.

I think the tours going forward will have more than the 14 shows we have had recently.
My guess is they will make it a tour with 20 to 30 shows.
what would you base this guess on?
Based on what ever he made up. Which means based on nothing

There are so many dreams, wish lists and predictions here. Many forget the main purpose of tour and shows to come during the next 12-18 months:
A NEW STUDIO ALBUM IS DUE OUT THIS YEAR
It is their first new album since 2005. May be it is their last one. Who knows? They sure want to do it in a perfect way.
If it was all about money, they would have been doing all shows in USA, cities like LA, NY, LV, Chicago. If it was all about money, why did they go to places in the past, like Wichita, Missoula, Regina, Istanbul, Australia, NZ, Singapore, Stockholm, places with travel cost and less income than their $10 million plus income level at key US venues. Why would they play at 50% to 70% income capacity, when there is more money to grab other places?
They don't do 100+ shows per year anymore. They don't do 50 shows per year. They do one show every four days at best, and usually a max of 14 shows or so per tour/year, before they do a break. May be they will stretch their limits a bit this year and next year, but they are not 20 anymore, not even 40 or 60. Many at age 80 are not touring at all, they are resting up at home.
May be they want us to know the new album before they go on tour. May be they want to travel the world. Few bands of their size have had the challenge of being so popular, with an income of $10 million or so per show, releasing a new album roughly 60 years into their career.
This year is unique. The album will be unique. The tour will be unique. I am sure.

I've facing 40 in California this year! Best wishes to both of us, and see you in the pit!

Has anyone heard if the next tour will be Stadium only? It’s probably safe to assume, but I really wish they would play some smaller venues.
they ended the last two tours in smaller venues so it seem possible they'll do the same for this tour

Yeah, but I mean actually schedule some smaller venues for the tour and not just a one off. I know, it’s probbably just a dream at this point!

I would love to think the motivation for their tour is not just money BUT they've stopped playing MSG and all arenas in favor of stadium shows....which I happen to hate! Even if they only fill a stadium 70-80% capacity or less, they make a TON more money than a night in an arena that holds maybe 22,000. Unless you happen to have a seat way up front in a stadium, you feel LOST, even with the big screens...at least I do. As far as set lists go, I don't think there's any excuse that holds water as to WHY they don't play at least 4 or 5 " gems " or deep cuts each show, varying them from city to city. Songs like " Connection" are simple to play, most of the songs that I'd love to hear are not difficult songs..." I Got The Blues", " Love In Vain"...easy songs..." Almost Hear You Sigh", " Lovin Cup", " Shine A Light"...not hard to play...so WHY repeat the same songs every single night? I still want to see a couple of shows on this next tour but I would love a bit more set list excitement with a few arenas tossed in for good measure!

smaller gigs would certainly mean enormously high prices. Look what they charged for the Casino gig in 2021. That's just too much for me. And Lucky Dips are very limited for these small gigs too so for many of us smaller venues would result in less number of gigs per tour.

Well, I remember going to many shows for A Bigger Bang tour, and they DID play a lot of the new songs from that album.
Rough Justice, Oh No Not You Again, Streets of Love, Back of My Hand, Infamy, This Place is Empty and Rain Fall Down.
So if we are waiting for the new album before the tour, I think we will get a lot of the new songs.

Before ABB Tour Keith said he was "looking forward to what happens to the songs as we get them on the road, take the diapers off" or something to that effect. Now if you compare the material with the live performances of OOC or SOM you have to admit that the ABB songs didn't gain anything by being played live. Keith couldn't know that before but the way the songs gradually fizzled out of the setlists tells me they noticed it too. Obviously I hope they got some real bangers up their sleeve but how it will work live, even they can't say for sure.
