If the tour is moved to later this year, this probably means we will not hear anything before the summer. Correct?

Tickets usually go on sale 3 to 4 months before the first show

Summer starts June 1 in the Northern Hemisphere. It's not far away.

But to answer your question, I certainly have zero idea.

I know this - they are not playing the 2023 New Orleans Jazz Fest - and they never will play the NOJF. That ship sank.

Not even that. Last year they announced the tour on March 13 for a June 1 start. Tickets went on sale March 18.

2021 was somewhat of an exception, because most of those shows had been postponed from 2020 with patrons already having bought their tickets. Moreover, the ticket sales for the postponed 2020 shows continued all throughout the pandemic.

2017 tour was announced on May 9th with a tour start on September 9th.

This tour in 2023 is already an exception, it is delayed, now being rescheduled.

As they get older, there will be a shorter time between announcements and tour start, it is only natural, they do not sell tickets for a tour next year, like younger bands do.

Yes, do you remember Björnulf, when we had tickets on the fridge. Under magnets. And we waited for a year to go on the bus to the arena. And we were young and foolish and had some Jack Daniels and bandanas and all that...But now we have to live for today and hope for the best. Ha det fint i Norge. smiling smiley

So there is still time for a tour to start early June - like originally planned. Unlikely, but possible.

I am still holding on to my hotel bookings for this summer, from Glendale AZ June 6 until Philly PA Aug 1. Sure I hope they can make it for these dates, that would be so great, but some say it might be difficult. I am an optimist.

I, too, have kept my hotel reservation in Edmonton just in case, but it would seem that a lot of people didn't - because hotel availability for June 18th looks a bit better now than it did before.

IMO it's really hard to see a June 6 tour start at this point. Things would need to start happening pretty fast.

@BV
Are band and UMG plans Tour and new album both coinciding in the same time?

Edmonton Commonwealth stadium still has no events booked for the 18th according to their website but, somewhat promising, the only event before that date or after is 7 days either way so so plenty of time to set up and take down a stagesmiling smiley

Historically, they've preferred to tour during good economic times (see their absence from touring during 2008-2011, 1991-1993, and their quick return to the road after Voodoo Lounge without much break for 1997-1999 boom times) but as long as they can get a guarantee they're happy with...

Absolutely... in regards to tour which many think will be tied to their album.

But to not factor in current finances in USA/Worldwide would be foolish as money makes this train run.

Judging by the amount of bands touring and doing stadium shows in the US, with high ticket prices none the less, I don't think the economy is a real factor. Not to mention, as already pointed out, some folks are more than. Happy to shell out $35 for an album they already own because it's on Red Vinyl. Prices for everything are high, but folks keep spending.

A lot of people seem to think credit cards are money. That's all going to come due some day. The recent tech layoffs are a bad sign of things to come.

I apologize for being lazy and not reviewing all 94 pages of this thread, but have The Stones said what caused to cancellation/postponement? I remember something about Ronnie's health, but never heard anything official.

There never was any official announcement of the tour so there was no need to comment on anything. So there was no official word about a 2023 tour at all.

the rumour is someone injured themselves just before the announcement and there rescheduling the tour for the fall so that they can recover

this is unconfirmed and just a rumour though
