I have a question/thought that I’ve been curious about for a long time that I’d like to ask of the group but I mean no disrespect at all and I’ve never brought it up because of who it involves, but given all these rumors now about a twice as long tour I cannot hold it in anymore…..

Is it possible that Charlie was the reason why they only did 14 shows at a time? That at their advanced ages that’s how they got him to commit to continuing? I know they all love doing what they do but I e been wondering g about that and now that they seem to going out for so long I’ve been wondering about it more. I love and miss Charlie immensely and am afraid of the blowback this question might bring.

If they tour longer than around 14 dates, which is the standard of the last few years, most likely the reason could be that the new tour will be after the new album — even though an artist can’t rely on album sales for the profit-making these days.

They could have planned and done that way in 2022 if Charlie was the reason.

I figured plans for the 60th were already underway at that point.

Well looks like the word is out in Boston. The Marriot at Gillette stadium rooms are $2,000 + on July 8th

Talk about dynamic pricing!

I just got a room 4 miles from the venue/stade with an "Exceptional" rating for an average of $367 a night including taxes for two nights, July 7th and 8th.

I also have two reservations for Chicago depending on how things work out.

Hopefully this is one big business trip so my employer pays for everything, as has often been the case in the past.

But we'll see how everything shakes out after the official announcement. All is subject to change.

Fairfield Inn? That's where I booked.

Springhill Suites by Marriott Wrentham Plainville.

I figured plans for the 60th were already underway at that point.

No Filter USA Tour 2021 finished on 23 November, and the SIXTY European Tour 2022 started on 1 June. There was enough time to revise the 2022 tour dates during these times. And remember, it was announced Charlie would pull out of the 2021 tour due to health issue, and eventually he passed away even before the tour started. As late as March 2022, the proposed Helsinki and Warsaw shows were quickly removed and the tour dates were seemingly reshuffled before they were given a final public announcement.

All these factors point to their planning of the SIXTY European Tour as the total of 14-16 shows, irrelevant to Charlie’s absence.

I haven't been posting much lately, but it will be good to see some of my old friends from previous shows: BFR, Mister DDDD, Cindy C, Hockenheim, Jason (can't think of his online name), Plexi, Angee, & others I forgot their names. I remember meeting a lot of you at the tour opener in St Louis back in 2021!
the men

Sockers56, thanks for the mention. Were you in Las Vegas last time, remind me?

Angee, I think it was at the Shidoobee party. I was with Mister DDDD & you gave him a book with photos of the Stones, I think. It was on the tour in 2021 but I can't remember what party or bar we were at.

I can tell you where it was Sockers. I think it was at the Shidoobee pre-party at a bar inside the Hard Rock Casino/Hotel complex the night before the show. It was just jam packed. Lots of singing along to Stones songs, good conversation, good food. That's where I finally met Angee AKA Andee too. Off the top of my head, others who were there were: Sandy Beach Juan Ignacio Munoz of the 40 x 5 fan club and the Tributo Bar in Buenos Aires, Mister DDDD as you said, Gail "On the Rail" Hoffman who organized it, Hockenheim95 Jan Rogalski and his wife Lena,Bert Dekker, Alan Tipping, and many more.

Think they’ll do two night stands in big cities like Chciago?

I would guess no because it sounds like they’ll be doing some other Midwest dates. Whenever they play Chicago more than the other cities (50 and Counting and 2019 tour), it’s in part because it’s the only location on the tour for the Midwest (not on the coasts essentially).

Doesn’t seem like Chicago is likely to be the only Midwest location for this go round.

Ah, that sounds like Hollywood, FL. Yes, now I remember you, Sockers. Hope to see you two again soon, of course!

(True, Plexi. Sorry I didn't see your post at first. What a grand party!)

When they played "Living In A Ghost Town" live in 2021 and 2022, Mick often introduced the song by saying "This is our lockdown song", or "This is something we hope will never happen again". "Ghost Town" is a great song live, they may play it this year too, but there will be a new album out in June, and I am sure they will tour behind that album name.

“There WILL be a new album in June”. Says BV. So .. semi official!!! :-)

I always liked when the Stones picked tour names that are kind of places: Lounge, Babylon, Jungle and even Steel Wheels was a kind of a world on its own. I liked that better than 14 on fire or Licks. That is: just tour names. Stage design is a different story. Anyway - can't wait for them to announce whatever and maybe even this month... OMG.

I know nothing is set in stone yet but do we think that the Canadian gig is likely to be the first gig of the tour? Trying to sort out flights etc from the U.K and attend as many gigs as possible within 3-4 weeks

I have not seen any rumoured shows in August yet, so I am not sure if they will do more than the usual set of 14 or so shows in June and July. What I do have indications on is tour start early June.

I am confused, didn't you say 50% more shows than previous tours and lasting until Early-September? Has this changed?

I doubt it. I know Buffalo and Cleveland were booked before the epidemic. It doesn’t make sense now that Cleveland has a show coming. I think they will hit markets that they have missed in a long time. I hope I’m wrong. My wife and I already booked a hotel in Cleveland.

Anything is possible. I would think they tour Europe first with the new album - it is a bigger market and easier.

If the 2023 North American tour to promote a new album is indeed limited to 14 or so shows, it's hard to imagine 2024 or 2025 will be any different. So big chunks of Planet Earth are going to miss out. It's been stated here a million times: If the Stones won't come to you, you have to come to them.

My niece works for the Bills as stadium operations and event assistant. She said there’s been mention of a possible show, but she didn’t know full details.

I know both cities are close distance but you never know, I would hope there is a show for Buffalo. It’s like will Vancouver get a date now after Edmonton, hope so. But if it’s 21 dates there’s a chance.
