Rolling Stones tour 2023. It sounds surreal. 20 years after Licks, when they were already seen as ancient dinosaurs of rock.

SIXTY is still suitable since its 60 years since their first single, Come On, 1963.

Things are getting exciting again!! thumbs up
The thought of a new album is even more exciting imo, but a new album coupled with a new tour? It's almost like the good old days again...

smileys with beer

Starting to get in the groove...feeling the excitement and anticipation....reminiscing and revisiting tours of the past...all those years ago...
This clip from 1981 is incredibly exciting and energetic...Keith blazing away... Mick all over the place including up in the stands with fans...
And Charlie, Bill, and Ronnie...and the rest...relentless...amazing...like a different band all together...and amazing to think 42 years later Keith, Mick, and Ronnie keep rolling on...inspiring...thumbs up

Thanks for sharing. This is a fantastic period of the band. I love remembering them in each era because without a doubt they have made each one of them really special
Agree. The Stones have given so much energy and it's amazing that they continue to do so to this day. This will be something very special
Can't wait to hear new music from the guys and to enjoy the new tour

This tour will totally be dubbed the same name the album is going to be.

New album, new tour.

This news of a new tour really surprised me, hadn't seen Ronnie out and about for months, very unlike him, was a bit concerned, so this now means Mick, Keith and Ronnie are all fit and well.

Great news, it's like the good old days, studio album of originals to promote on tour with new music being played live, Mick and Keith both being 80 this year, it's surely an illusional reality winking smiley

Is Cleveland a nice place to stay for a few nights? Lake Erie? Any great nature stuff around? End of July is really the only time that will work for me coming from Germany.

For me personally, Cleveland is the crappiest city in Ohio. Rundown and has an upstate NY vibe to it. Other than the RnR HOF there’s nothing to really see there. Went to an Indians game about 6 years ago and walking to the stadium made me nervous. Parking lots in sketchy part of town but coming thru the downtown area was a short but nice area. I’d consider going if this show was on the weekend but I’d be in and out same day. No way I’d stay there. It’s not far from Niagara Falls really. A few hours drive.

I would have bet on Columbus due to larger stadium and central location not to mention concerts in general draw stronger there.

I know it's a different era but wasn't the Licks arena show conspicuously less than full?

BC Place is available then! Whitecaps don't have any soccer matches then, no other concerts booked and BC Lions haven't announced their football schedule yet. Whitecaps last game is June 10 so set up the stage, do rehearsals, etc. or conversely make Vancouver the 18th then Edmonton 22nd for extra time for rehearsals and work out any kinks in the stage production.

The BC Lions football schedule is out.

They have a home game on June 17.

I guess it might be doable for the Stones to play on the 14th and load out before that?

Ghost Town could be a great album title. Also a theme for the tour and design. Just sayin. Or Fool's Paradise.

I don't think they'll use an already known name/song title for the new tour or a new album.
My guess is that the new tour will be name after the new album = *new album* tour

When they played "Living In A Ghost Town" live in 2021 and 2022, Mick often introduced the song by saying "This is our lockdown song", or "This is something we hope will never happen again". "Ghost Town" is a great song live, they may play it this year too, but there will be a new album out in June, and I am sure they will tour behind that album name.

hello everyone hello BV,
so Europe if they play it will be in 2024 .... I see it hard .... do you have any news on this?
America I'm coming....see you there....

Re: Stones tour plans 2023

They have reserved venues in North America from early June to early September this year. They will be on the road 50% longer than normal. They are not 20 anymore, not even 40 or 60, more like 80. It would be natural with a break after such a long stretch of touring.

Was it ever in?

Remember they have never played SA late in a year, it's always been between Jan-Apr.

I know nothing about tour logistics, but if they were to only have one stage, playing one city twice would cut down on the need for two stages.

For example, start the tour in one city for two dates. Then play an arena while the stage is moved/constructed. Then repeat.

Am I overthinking this?

Re: Stones tour plans 2023

They did not have two stages in Europe last year. In fact, they did not have a stage to haul around at all, they rented the stages locally and just brought the screens/frames/PA.

I think with 20+ shows and an extension of the tour to Europe in 2024 since they are now following their old pattern it's likely that there's enough budget for a very cool new stage that won't need rented stage frames, more like No Filter, Licks or B2B. Remember they already need two stages since they will do arenas this summer too.
