It could be cool if they played bigger college football fields. Knoxville, TN, Norman, OK, Ann Arbor, MI, Columbus, OH, Austin, TX, Pasadena, CA, come to mind, and there are plenty of other possibilities.

I, and other local fans, have long dreamed of a Stones show at Knoxville's Neyland Stadium. Sadly, that venue and it's administration is way too concerned about the local football team's field. Since the Jacksons did three shows there in 1984, only Kenny Chesney (2003) & Garth Brooks (2019) have been able to use the stadium for concerts. Another factor is the local hotels... from what I understand (not sure if this is actually true) the Stones only play in places w/ 5 star hotels which offer 24 hour restaurant & room service. If that is actually the case, there's no chance for Knoxville as we don't have a single hotel which falls in that category.

Side note:
NashvilleBlues: if your username is a reference to music as opposed to team colors, look me up the next time you get to Knoxville... we've got a pretty active blues community here and would be happy to welcome you when you arrive!

Peace,
Mr DJA

Thanks! Yeah, it's a musical reference, not a team reference (although I do love the 2-tone blue Titans!). I appreciate your hospitality. I attended UTK 1999-2000.

They've played college towns without fancy hotels before (Columbia, Missouri) but I sort of guess they just headed for the airport afterwards and flew in the morning of the show.

BV posted 10 shows in NYC was on the table.

That might make sense for the new album and wouldn't really be counted as a tour if they are all in the same place for a month.

There are multiple arenas in the NYC area.MSG,Barclays, UBS(brand new) Nassau coliseum and you can throw in the one in Newark

Yes there are, but you have NY Rangers, NJ Devils, NY Islanders of the NHL, NY Knicks and NJ Nets of the NBA. Nassau Coliseum, former home of the Islanders, is an hour away in Uniondale. Springtime is when the playoffs start as well as all the other bands touring, booking these venues. MSG is so booked the Rangers can't practice there.

The NY Rangers... the Stones won't have an issue.

Haha! What about the Knicks? Speaking of MSG, next month Billy Joel will perform his 131st show there! Been doing one show a month since January 2014!

I saw the Stones in New Orleans in 2019 - and the previous time - 1994.

If they are to finally figure out to the play the New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival I hope it's this spring because time is running out for The Rolling Stones and the same for southeast Louisiana.

I think this scenario (or close) is most likely.. smileys with beer
The bare bones 60 stage makes it more feasible.

I would think Atlanta will be on the U.S. tour list and possibly another city in the south if the tour does come to North America.

And Chicago.

I bet (hope) they change the entire stage that was used for the Sixty tour, or at least change the ugly/busy/gaudy/eyesore design that was used.
Maybe something more minimal and classy - something similar to the giant towers of No Filter which didn't distract from the performance, but embellished it.

i'd be fine with the 60 stage

however it does seem possible that with the new album a new stage would be desired by the band since this isn't going to be the sixty tour again but a new world tour possibly over two or more years

perhaps the the 60 stage was only intended for europe last year maybe now they can justify spending the money on a no filter quality stage

thoughts?

New album + new tour = new stage.

And I wasn't suggesting a massive/expensive stage design ala No Filter, but something visually classy and minimal along the same lines.
If they want to save money and have an easily transportable stage, they could use a similar flimsy stage ala Sixty Tour, but hopefully it will be redesigned to reflect the new album/new tour.
Out with the old, in with the new!

Hey! Nothing more classy than a surrealistic depiction of blood and yellow baby turds (quoting Stanley Booth) against a despotic black background.

They got over SIXTY pretty quick, so a redesign of some sort only makes sense.

Maybe Hawaii will get a well deserved show in 2023.

Waikiki Shell would be an interesting venue

I still get angry thinking of the canceled show of Honolulu, Hawaii 2006 angry smiley
The same day of the canceled show they played in L.A a rescheduled concert. Me?? Sitting on Hawaii Waikiki Beach…… and no concert. A real bummer flying from the Netherlands. Yes I knew before flying there was no concert, but Icouldn’t reschedule my air tickets without loosing my money.

I know what you mean, and I had a similar experience this summer as far as a non refundable air ticket is concerned. I had tix for 4 shows, found a cheap flight Denver to Vienna, then my pickup truck had a total breakdown, very expensive to replace, had to cancel my plans, but no way could I get a refund on the flight nor credit, nothing. Will never make that mistake again of getting the cheapest and non-changeable flight.

This seems unlikely - from previous posts it sounds like there'll be 24-30 shows over 2023 and 2024. Europe in 2024 then for the finale?

BV has been pretty consistent lately in referencing that 2023 - 2024 time frame.

Reading between the lines I think the 2023 - 2024 timeline referenced would ALLOW for them to do US + Australia and Asia or Europe + Australia and Asia but I personally don’t consider that it be likely (30 or so shows total in 2 years)

At their ages and touring patterns, my personal expectation is North America is all that’s on the docket for 2023 and Europe remains the likely path for 2024.

I think it’s fair to think of 15 shows or so a year as their capacity and any deviation from how they typically tour (in one set area) would have to financially be worth their while. I don’t see any geography being able to clear that hurdle to take away from North America or Europe (based on that 15 shows or so a year capacity). Especially when you consider the added costs and complexity of logistics of touring two separate continents in the same year.

I was under the impression that the 14/15 show limit was due to insurance purposes. If so does that mean for the entire year or per tour?

Good point. Not a single US show sold out on the last tour here, except the small casino show. They would have better luck going to cities they haven’t hit in years. They probably will play it safe with NYC & LA, but if they did new US cities, here is how my 2023 North America Spring Tour would look like:

Vancouver
Salt Lake City
San Diego
Orlando
Memphis
Kansas City
Cleveland
Minnesota
Baltimore
Montreal
