So you are saying they might return to their old touring model just with fewer shows and just doing the major cities?
So north America, then Tokyo, a few shows in Australia/NZ and then some in Europe?
Interesting....!Quote

The release of their album "A Bigger Bang" was supported by a two years worldwide tour of 148 shows during Aug. 2005 to Aug. 2007. Ronnie is leaking a lot of their plans actually, a 50 years package i.e. Sticky Fingers to current, another tour, and a new album. So I assume they will do major cities worldwide next year.

They used to do 75 or so shows per year during tours 15-30 years ago. Now the standard is 14 shows per year. Mick and Ronnie have got children age 5-6 years old. I am not sure if they want to spend all year touring, at a time when their children are supposed to build a "normal" life. A short worldwide tour would make more sense. They do need to market the new album, but they do not have the capacity to perform in lots of places across the world anymore.

But why a 50-year package when you just celebrated 60?

Yeah, I mean, B.B. King used to perform sitting in a chair in his last touring years. And he did it until he was, what, 88? 89?
But Gerard is right, it's a lot different.
sorry, can you imagine mick on a stool? the good and the beautiful of the stones, are the physicality, the sensuality of the movements, break into the stage as only he can do in the 90 meters of the stage for 2 hours .. otherwise I prefer to live on memories with my 50 concerts seen so far , it will seem that I am not predisposed to change, but today unfortunately I cannot do what I did 30 years ago, it is an awareness that time passes ... everything these guys will give us will be a bonus, they no longer have to prove anything to none ... no albums or anything else ... it's my humble thought ... keep on rolling all of you ... spin the turntable and enjoy them ...sorry my english ..

When I saw Pearl Jam in Krakow this July they didn't sit down (as in the whole band sitting down) at any point.
I guess you're talking about their September show at the Apollo, but that was a special theater show with lots of B-sides and rare stuff.

simply because of EU copyright laws. Any recording that has not been commercially used within 50 years becomes public domain. So the deadline to release stuff from 1972 is Dec 31, 2022 (midnight)

They didn’t at Hyde park either - but Amsterdam onwards following eddie’s throat issues the remaining US dates started seated
Btw - jealous of krakow had tickets for original (2020?)show but had to skip rearranged date

Just saw the Sun report Europe and South America next summer.

They haven't played 20 shows in a year since 2014. Hard to see them playing more than one continent a year, at this stage in their lives. Hope I'm wrong!

different continents should be their most urgent problem. It's rather the number of shows per year. (During the usual one week break in the middle of their tour they could easily switch from Europe to the US or vice versa).

Simon Boyle's piece in The Sun report also mentioned the US - "I’m told another major tour, likely to include US, South American and European dates will likely follow the 2023 release."
