Maybe they'll throw in a few theater shows to make it all extra special - possibly something similar as Licks Tour with the stadium, arena, theater/club format...thumbs up

They missed some major markets in 2021 so I’d bet on a short USA run in the next 2 years.

They played those major markets in 2019.

Perhaps I'm naive but I don't buy that they only do it for the money these days. They know time is ticking and The Stones have always seemed to really like MSG, why not do a show there because THEY enjoy it. Mayne hit the Beqxon once more and just do it for fun or one last run. As great as So Fi is and the new Vegas Stadium is....it probably isn't as fun as playing the Forum for the band. Again this is just a "dream" idea anyway so take it like a grain of salt. Arenas may draw more of a demand with less tix than a stadium.

I guess Mick rather wants to play SoFi or Allegiant for the first time than MSG for "one last run". Honestly I prefer stadium shows over arena Shows. 1999 and 2003 have been interesting because of the setlists but a stadium is louder, wilder and the experience is more exciting for me in a stadium than in a sterile Arena.

That they are touring in itself shows the core group are doing it for other reasons than personal financial gain...they should be secured already. Why not reach out to the most fans and have more funds to spend on the entourage for performing on a stage. Is being in the pit so different/worse than a club show?

I actually prefer Stadium shows myself. But I'm just thinking rationally that if this was to happen in the Fall, they won't be playing Mid West North East Stadiums in the Fall. But Summer 2023,sure Stadiums would definitely be an option. Easier to schedule when NFL isn't in season as well.

Given this summer and the past few summers if they were to even bother touring the US again in stadiums it would be best if it was in spring through early summer - April, May, early June.

Stadiums keep ticket prices low
1 stadium might be = 5 arenas

The sound is always better in an enclosed smaller arena vs. a massive outdoor cavernous crater/stadium where it can be hit or miss depending on location and other variables,
but some people prefer those massive stadiums for the fun and camaraderie of the large crowds over quality of the sound and music itself.

You could be right but I don't have the sense that applies to too many here.
Most of us would take a smaller show any day, I think, if we had a choice,
and could procure a ticket. Yes?

Smaller venues would certainly be my choice angee - some of my all time favorite Stones shows have been in intimate theaters, clubs, and arenas.
That being said, I have enjoyed quite a few massive stadium shows over the years as well, especially the first two I ever attended at the L.A. Coliseum in 1981 - life changing experiences. thumbs up

I truly believe they could return to US next summer as they missed many cities in 2021. Why not the demand is there and money.

True, and it could be sooner rather than later...if the stars are all properly aligned, possibly even a few shows this Fall.
There's always lots of people who want to see them, and there's still lots of of money to be made. $$$$

The guys are pushing 80. I remember people cal the Steel Wheel tour the Steel Wheelchair tour. They were in their mid 40,s then.

Maybe a handful of shows next year. Don’t b greedy people. The USA had more than their share

Karl's band has 8 shows close together in August from 10th thru 20th
3 shows in september back to back 16-18
2 shows wide apart in october
1 show in november
1 show in december

I never thought "The Rolling Stones" would do another 14 dates in the fall of 2022 but is space for a few shows if they want

Here's an interesting look at the Stones 2015-2022 in North America and EU + UK.

If you look at the numbers from this time selection, you'll see the band played 48 shows in the USA, 2 shows in Canada totalling for 50 shows between USA and Canada.

In the EU they've played 32 shows and 11 shows in the UK for a total of 43 shows. Only 7 shows more in North America. This doesn't include any Latin America shows from 2016.

It definitely tells you their biggest market in this time-frame has been UK, California, Germany, and France.

Honestly though, I don't think there will be any pattern to what they do next. I think following historic patterns (other than with the setlist) is pointless at this stage in the game. This is just my feeling though and is conjecture either way you look at it.

2015 – 2022

USA (48)

They may be doing it for fun, and it does look like they're having fun, which is awesome and why the shows have been great.

But it's a huge business enterprise and it seems clear they're playing where the demand would be highest. That's going to dictate their next tour, and the cities played on that tour, rather than cities or venues they might like.

The original poster (thread opener) didn't think so either - [iorr.org] . His idea were a handful of US-shows like at the end of 2012.

2-3 arena-shows each at the end of 2022 in NYC & LA might work - to celebrate the 60th anniversary. Maybe for fans only due to high ticket-prices.

Quarter-finals are Fri/Sat 9-10 December 2022, 6pm & 10pm.
Semi-finals are Tue/Wed 13-14 December 2022, 10pm.
Third place play-off is Sat 17 December 2022, 6pm.
Final is Sun 18 December 2022, 6pm.

When it's 10pm in Qatar then it's 11am in LA and 2pm in NYC. 6pm Qatar is 7am LA and 10am NYC.

Should be possible to arrange it with the concerts.

Yes, either freezing or cooking! Hey Treacle, it was this time last year we hit the huge heat dome. Sunny and warm now but not nearly as bad as last year. June 29 is when Lytton BC hit 49 celsius, hottest recorded temperature ever in Canada, hotter than Vegas ever recorded. Next day the whole town burned down.

Vancouver area is due for a heatwave next week I don’t mind tired of rain.

I'd say with a recession looming and rising high inflation in the USA it wouldn't be prudent to tour the USA - besides they get enough gigs from the Stones! It's Australia / NZ turn to see them.....

I say @#$%& the USA and go where they haven't been in a long time. Like South America, Australia, Asia. It's boring to only see them go between USA and Europe. Also not fair to the fans in those other areas.

A Tour in South America could be difficult due to political/economical uncertainties and a Tour in Asia & Oceania due to new Covid-lockdowns.
