Coincidentally--to me, anyway--just yesterday, I was looking into the most "Exile" songs stacked into a single set in recent tours (of the 5-6 still in rotation). There were these same four in Detroit in 2015. Damn near an "Exile on Main Street" 50th anniversary feature!

Reminds me, I was recently doodling with the 15 song setlist we got in 1972 (saw 'em in Norfolk) and counted six Exile songs. Do you know if there were ever that many again? My guess is unfortunately "no."

Hey there! I am admittedly overly focused on setlists, so I did manage to piss away a good hour or so looking into which songs they played awhile back. Here's the last time they played songs from Exile--there are a few surprises, and some never heard live (updated today):

1. Rocks Off (2022)
2. Rip This Joint (2003)
3. Shake Your Hips (Never)
4. Casino Boogie (Never)
5. Tumbling Dice (2022)
6. Sweet Virginia (2022)
7. Torn and Frayed (2002)
8. Sweet Black Angel (1972 once)
9. Loving Cup (2014)
10. Happy (2022)
11. Turd on the Run (Never)
12. Ventilator Blues (1972 once)
13. I Just Want To See His Face (Never)
14. Let It Loose (Never)
15. Stop Breaking Down (Never)
16. All Down the Line (2022)
17. Shine A Light (2017)
18. Soul Survivor (Never)

Seven Exile songs were played live when they played Sweet Black Angel for the only time. My uncle was there. Here’s the setlist…

After watching the show I have the impression that Mick Jagger gets homesick, musically spoken.

How do you get that impression, TheflyingDutchman?

Because I was about 20 meters from the stage, watched Jagger and listened to the music, if that's the word you want to hear. I wonder why Jagger still does this.

Oh, do you mean he feels nostalgic for the old days when he sings the songs? (Sorry if I don't understand too well.)

That could be part of the problem indeed. Berlin's nightlife is great btw. Cheers, smileys with beer blub.

Hi everybody!

Nearly four hours since the last note of 'Satisfaction' rang through the marvellous Waldbühne - and I'm very happy to have witnessed this show!

It was my third on this leg after Madrid and Munich and I would also rate it best out of these three...

Btw: I would like to leave a big 'THANK YOU' to bv for this forum and all the work he does for us!

Gute Nacht aus Berlin!

Jens

Appreciate the time to make this list for us! Just 1 correction: Stop Breaking Down was played in 1995 with Robert Cray.

Would be curious which albums have the highest percentage of songs played live off them and which have the lowest...something to spend time on in the off season before the next tour smiling smiley

I've seen half of the shows of the sixty tour and I have to say that the first half of the Berlin show was the best of them.
Great setlist, 4 Exile songs (3 of them in a row) and three new songs for the tour (at Munich they didn't do Rocks Off but a loose jam called Rocks Fuc*ed Off)

Just got home from Berlin an hour ago. What a show!! Got there easy with no traffic jams from Hamburg, found a parking place 15 mins from the venue, got Pit in Lucky Dip, went into the venue through a shorter side queue and got this amazing setlist and a band on fire!! Ranks up with the best days I've ever had in my life.

Powerage78 do you consider ACDC a nostalgic act now also?

Ac/Dc have actually had three albums of new original material since the last Stones album of same. Hardly nostalgic compared to The Stones.

Right, as I learned years later Fort Worth was different, they did more songs those shows because they were filming the tour movie... and they rehearsed even more there than they played in the shows.

The first show, Vancouver, they tried out other Exile songs, so that probably was the most ever played; I haven't looked back up that setlist, but they might've gotten eight.

Most shows that tour got the same 15 song setlist, though.

I was wondering if after 1972 they ever played 6 (or more) Exile songs again in a show. Still guessing No, unless it was early '73 Australia.

For whatever reason Mick is a bit ahead of the groove but whatever - so nice. Although a bit subdued the crowd acknowledged it as well.

Must be all those hits comps with Fool To Cry on them.

Wow!

That was damn excellent - possibly the best ever in the Ronnie era, anyway, because Mick nailed a majority of it in the way that he can and the band was tighter than usual.

Maybe they should do more one off songs like this and Fool To Cry!

Mine will be up soon - uploading but slow

Note: very shaky some of the vids.. My compadres next to me jumping up and down, me jumping up and down etc - but you will probably enjoy parts of it particularly my fun fun fun gal pals creating some great fun

We are all on the rail.. much narrower stage and shorter catwalk meant way less rail space - we lined up very early, had a very hot and sweaty day waiting often in direct blistering sun and show was very very hot.. WORTH IT
