Nobody knows what the deal with Bill was when he quit. What they agreed on. Maybe he doesn't want the publicity anymore.

I suspect Bill just decided the heavy touring was no-longer for him. Perhaps he felt that the being on the road was too much an essential component of being a Rolling Stone and that recording in the studio alone, was not enough. With the huge success of the Stones’ Steel Wheels and Urban Jungle Tours, he foresaw the group’s future. He’d recently married and wanted an indefinite break. It was the right decision for him and I’m sure there’s no regrets.

I merely got the impression that Bill Wyman airbrushed Mick Taylor from the band's history. Picture Rolling Stones 6-tees/7-tees.

Could someone give at least the gist of it? The Times won't let us read the story.

Good read, thank you.

I do believe that Bill and Charley were the best rythm section in the music style I love.

I fully respect those whose opinion is that the rhythm section was never as strong post Bill's departure and I've been to and enjoyed several of his other musical enterprises. But I can't help but think it was a good thing for him that Bill had departed the Stones long before "Me too" happened. I just don't think he or the band would have escaped some very tricky resurrecting of the past if he were still part of the world's most famous rock band.

First off, thank you WorriedAboutYou for posting the actual article. There was certainly a lot less to it than the headline promoted. We got nothing from Bill or the surviving Stones on whether there is friction or not. I managed to get a hold of the Tattoo You 40th Anniversary Super Set. The hardback coffee table book that comes with it only has a couple pictures of Bill, and there pushed almost to the seam of the book, and hard to see.

As for Bill and "Me Too", don't think he's the only one who would be under scrutiny. I imagine someone might want to question the lyricist to Stray Cat Blues. Fantasy porn fiction? Or based on experience with an underage girl, and her wild friend too?
