Maybe it's already posted somewhere: I was suprised by the crowd singing the Satisfaction riff - during the show and after. Who did it start, the fans from South America (ha, you know how in works...)?
Very likely. And then Mick sort of brought it over to subsequent tours. It was crazy to hear American audiences eat it up during the 2021 tour. Brilliant actually because they gave the audience one more "hook" to sing along to like the Miss You riff.

Im betting the air conditioning messed with Mick’s voice. Those massive AC units dry the air out like crazy. I sing in a bar/casino band and used to wonder why I struggled with vocal issues at indoor gigs in the summmer…AC reduces humidity so much, especially traveling between gigs with van AC on full. His vocal symptoms during JJF remind me more of dehydrated vocal chords than any real issues.

Mick is a pro, he’ll be back 100% in Paris!

Then we can teach them how to organize the picking up of LD. It was a mess.

Would love to hear it too but it's unlikely they'll play it...If OOT hadn't been such a success when they first trotted it out it could have been an option but now it seems that ship has sailed !

Would make the Paris gig extra special if they played it there. We’ll see what cards they have up their sleeve

Can't see them playing it this late on the mini-tour. Since Hyde Park I gave up hoping for it. We can be lucky if we get 19 songs!

Mother’s little helper AND Out of time.
OOT and Ghost Town are the signature songs of this year’s tour

Play With Fire would also be great, they skipped in last time in Paris but they played it in 2017 and 2019.

After a disapointing Vienna... a fantastic show in Lyon!

Are you sure you were there in Vienna? Been to their shows since 1976 all around the globe but Vienna 2022 was the best ever show for me.
But maybe it depends on what you're focusing. I don't care for bad solos and errors as we talk about the Stones. But the show and the vibe was pure magic in Wien. Sorry you couldn't enjoy.

Best show ever and you started in 1976???
Are you serious ?
OK we're still happy to see them, and we're lucky ! But let's stay objective ! Keith is not the same anymore since ABB tour ! I've been in the first ranks so many times since 1995 and

I think that Keith is far better nowadays than in the ABB tour, is playing better this tour than 2017/2018/2019

Are you serious? I just watched Salt Lake 2005 show and Keith was a different guitar player back then. Nowadays he's still decent, but makes more mistakes, plays off-time more often, and leaves open spaces where he almost stops playing (like on Dead Flowers in Lyon).

I don't believe for one minute that Mick uses regular AC on stage. It must be a system that avoids the usual dryness generated by AC. Mick was clearly saving himself at the end of the show, but i dont blame him at all. He gave everything he could, and everyone knows it.

Air ventilation is the most complex task - and expensive - in any buildings. Outside, when the temperature in the stadium air is +37 (99F) which is was in Lyon at show start, I don't think any engineer in the world could build a machine or a bubble that could give Mick "normal" temperature and humidity.

Every time Mick or Keith was center stage, up front, you could see their hair and cloths blowing like in a hair shampoo commercial, it was like they were in a wind tunnel machine. Just see their hair in some of the pictures from the show. There was a large fan blowing wind into their entire body. May be it was slightly cooler than what we - the crowd - had like 37 C or so, but the humidity I have no idea about.

Personally, I do often get a cold if the air condition is locked up too low in a room, it happens.

I think you have a point on some level, he's playing with as much force and power as he was back as far as Licks 02' 03' but obviously due to his fingers he is much more restricted and limited than he was back then.
What i think makes us tend to exaggerate Keith's playing is that we are so excited that he is happy and healthy and that he's enjoying being on stage as much as he ever has.
But what happens to me is i start watching Keith play Sympathy or GS or something from the 90s and you realise he was just an incredible force of nature back then that no near 80 year old can be compared to.

One thing is for sure though , Keith is singing as good as ever, Rock on Keith.

2005 is different from 2007 though

seriously some of those shows from 07 are hard to listen to all the way thru

You are absolutely right about AC in general, but do you really believe Mick would risk a cold or a bad effect on his voice? There are specific AC systems with a fogger attached to it. Or maybe Mick just comes and goes so often that there is no risk at all...

It's no honor to say that Keith plays better today than he did on the A Bigger Bang Tour. I respect everyone's opinion and shared admiration for the band, but I'm really appalled by what I read here sometimes, it's beyond comprehension.

TOTALLY. And so unnecessary. And the woman giving out the Tix was a total bitch. VERY stressful. And the 3 pairs I saw (including mine) were up in 421, way up high.

Lyon Encore Shows How Fond They Are of Each Orher

Someone in one of the Lyon reviews said how Keith just shrugged his shoulders when Mick said to him that he could only do one encore after JJF. I saw it very differently with Keith putting his arm around Mick and gesturing them both offstage. He clearly said ‘It’s OK mate I’ve got your back’. There was no ‘shrugging’. I just think it shows there’s real warmth there now

[youtu.be]

Mick ran over to Keith appearing to be excited to tell him something. He's animated, waving his hands around. At the corner of his face I see him smiling. It looks to me Mick is joking about something--likely about the heat, about the whole night.

Obviously they decided to skip Gimmme Shelter somewhere between this moment and the moment Keith rips into Satisfaction but I doubt Mick would have asked for that while on stage. That kind of talk happens backstage out of sight from the lights, cameras and audience.

But to your point the band truly came together for him. Definitely shades of Las Vegas 2016 were there.
