Far Away Eyes

Was disappointed we couldn't make that happen in Nashville.

I voted for Far Away Eyes since it's the only song out of these four that I have never heard before

Easiest vote so far. This HAS to be Beast of Burden, surely? One of their greatest, and … ah hum… most recent, and “contemporary” songs, in relative terms!!! :-)

all of the songs in the vote have already been performed on this tour – except for Far Away Eyes. Insofar it's a poor song vote

And even if the song is silly it's surely a lot of fun!

Played it in Nashville in 2015.

Missed it by just six years.

Which of course in "Stones' time" is nothing.

I agree Brussells isn't going to hear it, that at their very luckiest they'll get Beast of Burden.

But I'm kinda curious how Mick would sing Far Away Eyes... how he'd describe the radio station, now that Brown Sugar is no more. If he feels the need to change the "period" American language of the time, to not offend anybody today?

Edit:
Not offend anybody except evangelicals, that is.

Two cool setlist notes about Nashville 2021:
1. First Connection in 15 years
2. Possibly the last time Troubles a’ Comin will ever be performed

Yeah, I also went with Faraway Eyes.

Not my fave on the list, but the one I'd most like to hear live RIGHT NOW!

Agreed as all the other songs I’d heard live before. Would have been killer if they’d broken out Country Honk!!!

For what it's worth, "Trouble's A' Comin" is also played.

have they ever included it in a song vote?

the performance from ole was great

keith can clearly still play it

mick can sing it well enough

they should play this at least once onstage with a violinist and the whole band behind them

would have been fantasic in 2019 during the acoustic set

but then mick would probably think playing it and honky tonk woman would be too much

and they can't not play honky tonk woman right?eye rolling smiley

how many here would rather they play country honk then honky tonk women at brussels?

I didn’t realize Country Honk had ever been played live!! I don’t have Ole, as I’ve forgotten which takin to buy. I believe the Japanese one has bonus material? Haven’t looked into it for awhile now. I think they could do Country and omit HTW. There are plenty of other hits still omitted. Monkey Man, Mixed Emotions, Harlem Shuffle, Mothers Little Helper, HYSYMBSITS, Tell Me, OOC, Love IS Strong. They could easily replace a staple with something else.

Interestingly, I almost dare not mention it for fear of starting an issue, but I do think besides a certain song I shall not name, I also think that we have probably heard the last of some other Stones songs too. Namely When the Whip Comes Down. When’s the last time it was played live? I just don’t think lyrically they could perform it today. Perhaps the same could be said for Some Girls and Respectable as well.
