Anyone know why Christone Kingfish Ingram didn't. Play? To be honest, he was the only support I had any real interest in seeing.

Hi there teleblaster - as far as I can see he did play. He performed on the Hard Rock Rising Rainbow stage, not the Great Oak stage, which was a shame as I would have liked to have seen him too.

Yes he did — twice (4:20-4:50 and 5:40-6:20). I caught the first set and the band was smoking, his guitar play unbelievable!

The Rainbow Stage was situated at the far end of the north side of the event site, the opposite of the Great Oak Stage — you may have easily missed it had you not paid attention.

Both Hyde Park shows were blessed with quality lineups (remember, these were festivals) — Phoebe Bridgers, The War On Drugs, Cortney Barnett, Sam Fender…a mouthwatering array of top musicians. Definitely an advantage over most of the other tour dates where the audience is treated to a lousy starter. Ghost Hounds, anyone?

Thanks to you both for replying. I did hear some distant electric blues guitar a couple of times and this explains it, but hard to tell if it had been live or piped. Very noisy where I was placed. Sorry to have missed his sets, but now at least I now know why (I had suspected Covid, of course)!

I saw his set, but if you heard one song you heard them all.
He can play, but it’s a little dull after a while.

Thanks MOWAT, I'll check him out in Glasgow. The Concert Hall is usually for more established and often mainstream artists - e.g., the Drifters. Not the best venue for a blues guitarist (as Joanne Shaw Taylor found out the hard way), but will give it a whirl.

Did Keith play a Gibson Flying V at Hyde Park like
he did in 1969?
In the vid here he is warming up with a V.

Good one!

So to clear it up - of course I meant the two concerts this summer of 2022.

I suppose he just played around with it backstage. During soundcheck in Madrid he showed off a Philips tape recorder as used for SFM and JJF one of the crew allegedly picked up off a flea market.

Haha... I want to reach in there and go, 'But Keef, you're not playing it right".
I'd probably get the '81 treatment; i.e. a Telecaster to the head.
