Blu-ray is coded in DTS-HD Master Audio. Which is essentially HD LPCM codding with 24 bit / 192 kHz sample rate.

So which one has a more crisp sound that allows for the best listening quality? It's subjective?
Definitely Super Audio CD (SACD) - but it needs a SACD-Player (and a better quality of the other audio-components is not bad either).

Indeed! Fun but it can be expensive. I'm going to have to start thinning out the collection. I have so many copies of some things it's ridiculous. My only saving grace, or at least this is what I tell my wife, is that a lot of it has appreciated in price.

Stunning 60 years on we're still getting more repackages of the original decade. I guess that's a good thing they can still generate enough interest to have people buying this.
I'm probably not in the market for another SACD release as I bought the original SACDs in 2002 however I am contemplating that new MONO box if it is established it is actually being released.
