A yellow or brown Hackney Diamonds would be nice eh? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Kidding, I hope this time they will come up with something truely special. Not just another colored classic album or compilation.

If they want something very collectable for the next RSD, they'd do a vinyl release of the Racket Club show. People would go insane for that.

HA!

I just came across this post from December.

THEY LISTENED TO ME!

I picked up the Racket release--I almost got in that night--not really. I stood outside and watched everyone in the band save Mick, go and have their makeup done.

I also picked up Ian Hunter's Defiance pt.2 Looking forward to playing same when I get home.

Looking forward to next Sunday in Houston and then 5/2 in NOLA.

THE ROLLING STONES BEGGARS BANQUET LP

$30.00

[shop.abkco.com]

Ships on May 1, 2024
In 1968 The Rolling Stones returned to their blues roots on Beggars Banquet, which was immediately acclaimed as one of their landmark achievements. A strong acoustic Delta blues flavor colors much of the material, particularly “Prodigal Son” and “No Expectations.” Basic rock n’ roll is not forgotten with “Street Fighting Man” and “Sympathy For The Devil.” The lyrical bite of the material ensured the album’s place as one of the top blues-based records of all time.

*****Available as part of RSD 2024*****, this LP is pressed on grey, blue, black and white swirl vinyl as an ode to the lyric “a swirling mass of grey, blue, black and white,” from “Salt Of The Earth,” as performed in The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus. Featuring the original album artwork and an original window display poster.

Tracklisting:
Side 1
1. Sympathy For the Devil
2. No Expectations
3. Dear Doctor
4. Parachute Woman
5. Jigsaw Puzzle

Side 2
1. Street Fighting Man
2. Prodigal Son
3. Stray Cat Blues
4. Factory Girl
5. Salt of the Earth

Please note that each vinyl is unique and the colors may appear slightly different from the image displayed.

My notes:
Pay attention to the OBI Strip and the colour of the record, The OBI Strip and colour is totally different to 2023 release.

It is amazing how ABKCO sells us the same stuff again and again in different formats, editions, releases, even as deluxe sets - but always only the same old content and without any additional unreleased tracks! What a masterpiece! grinning smiley

The OBI Strip and colour is totally different to 2023 release.

But in 2023, there were already two different looking pressings (Canada/Germany) - [iorr.org] . The OBI now says only 'Swirl Vinyl' (instead of 'Swirling mass of Grey, Blue, Black and White') plus now 'Newly Remastered'.

Newly remastered? They mean new in '2018'?

Geez, this is pathetic. Now they're re-releasing last years RSD title, just in a different color pattern. Looks great I must say and it will be difficult to ignore, but I can't subscribe to this type of marketing.

OT: RSD2024 where you able to find what you wanted?

This was the first RSD I did & was amazed at the line at 6AM about 300 feet long, I almost went home but at 7AM they let us in & I was in line to check out @ 7:13, I went for the “Sweethearts of the Rodeo” live LP they only had 2 copies, the others I picked up were Yes Live '71, Yardbird B-sides, Talking Heads Live '77 & I went back the next day & got the Faces BBC LPs if I had known it had “Three Button Hand me Down” on it I'd have grabbed it on 4-20, from looking on YT looks like prices varied, some paid $10 more than I did for Sweethearts Live & I paid $34.95 for the Talking Heads someone on YT paid over $55 in the store!
How did you all do?

I went in late morning, no line, and bought Live at Racket.
That's really all I wanted since I'm watching my bank account at the moment, but I did ask about the Jerry Garcia release. The store I was at was sold out of them, but there were a couple in the area that still had them as of that moment. I didn't go looking for them, though.

Got Racket and Charlie yesterday here in Milano. Plenty of copies available and no queue. Racket has a copy of the set list: now I feel no longer an idiot for spending 40 EUR for something that I have already listened more than enough of Music smiling smiley ...
