Artifacts from the '72 Tour

Given that it's the 50th anniversary of the '72 Tour, I gathered together a few things I've collected over the years. I’ve spent hours on the phone with crew members and scoured through old photos/newspaper clippings searching for information.

If anyone's interested, I'll be sharing more about the individual items in the photo with a bit more context and history over on my instagram at https://www.instagram.com/maxsnaps/

Great shirts - every one of them. Excellent collection. Most of the shirts I have never seen.

This is making me think of Erwin's '72 book (which I have not seen yet, but will definitely order)

Thank you for the pic!

Funny how much of this band-sanctified material has the look of bootleg/counterfeit stuff.

Happy to share! There's still some uncertainty of which shirts were official in '72. It's my belief that the one on the top right is the official shirt sold on the tour with the programs. Most of these were made by local promoters.

Awesome! Gotta be worth a fortune too, these days!
Cool to see the sleeveless tongueshirt that Charlie wore at some shows.

I think Jagger and Taylor also wore that shirt. Wonder if it was always the same shirt...
makes me think of the '76 clip when Jagger is outfitting himself for stage, and he pulls out those white Capezios shoes, and goes "Oh these are soaking wet from last night"

Correct. Those tanks were custom made and the Stones picked them up at the LA stop in '73. Charlie wore his a lot throughout '73. MT wore his quite a bit in '72. Jagger only wore his once on stage. Keith had a sweater with a slightly different graphic, haha. Wyman had a brown sweater that sold in the Julien's sale.
